Clack Mountain Festival (CMF), formerly Bluegrass 'n More, features numerous performances of Bluegrass, traditional, acoustic and other music, showcasing regional talent, as well as nationally-recognized musicians and songwriters. Most of the activities of CMF are held at or near the Cora Wilson Stewart Moonlight School in the historic First Street Arts District. This year's festival will feature: Ralph Stanley and the Clinch Mountain Boys, the Steeldrivers, the Carolina Chocolate Drops, the Clack Mountain String Band along with talent from both the Bluegrass and Old Time band contests. In addition to music, various arts and heritage events are held during the festival, including presentation of the Appalachian Treasure Award, which recognizes individuals dedicated to the preservation of Appalachian culture and traditions. A Day in the Country Folk Art Show & Sale and the Appalachian Arts and Craft Fair are also held in conjunction with the festival. Several area art exhibits also are scheduled.
