A man may devote himself to death and destruction to save a nation; but no nation will devote itself to death and destruction to save mankind. ~Samuel Taylor Coleridge
I'm interested in music, unplugging people from the boob tube & advertisements, conspiracy theories, the human condition, enlightenment, environment, wine, medicinal herbs & *baked* goods, the cosmos, meditation, those who've tapped in to astral projection (can people really do that?), yoga, dance, people who work in adult entertainment (that takes a set of nad's that I definitely lack), radio, acupuncture, people addicted to pop-culture and/or 24-hour news channels fascinate me (WTF is goin' on there??), playing guitar, eastern philosophy, legalization, eccentric folks, Aqua Teen Hunger Force, Sirius Satellite & KPFK Radio (a couple of the last bastions of free speech), comedy, green & healthy living, The Howard Stern Show, Breuer Unleashed, Space Ways Radio, Wellness Radio and shape shifting. ;^) Oh - and I have a definite love/hate relationship with politics.
Above is a profound radio segment that was the final cog in the wheels of my brain that made me open my eyes. It'll teach you way more than you needed to know about your pineal gland too.
My *change*, so to speak, slowly started w/Aldous Huxley, Carl Sagan & George Carlin (God bless my dad for letting me watch Carlin's comedic genius when I was just a kid). It developed a little more when I heard radio & poetic genius, Jerry Quickley, and the astute words of Bill Hicks. The band Incubus and NIN were (prepare for shit pun) instrumental in my change once I started to dissect their lyrics. THEN I heard the radio segment above on the Breuer Unleashed radio show. Joe Rogan & Jim Breuer kicked the wall of illusion down! A few weeks later I caught a radio segment from Deepak Chopra on Sirius (did you know Deepak dropped acid as a teen??) and then an old Alan Watts lecture on KPFK.org. They were both talking about existentialism... and it ALL CAME TOGETHER! (it was SO great!)
This very diverse group of intellectually inquisitive and esoteric people from very different backgrounds were all screaming the same thing to me - OPEN YOUR EYES and shut off that God damned TV and news bullshit! When I go over and analyze their words and observations collectively, the main point is very similar to Buddhism and quantum physics. Fascinating shit I tell ya! Much better than getting bamboozled by reality TV or network sitcom's (which ironically, lack any semblance of "comedy" for the most part).
Beyond that radio segment, Jim Breuer's insight of "pulling back the curtain," (along w/Chopra) has been a consistent source of inspiration and enlightenment for me. I would have NEVER guessed that would be the case. But the man is much more than "goat boy" or the "stoner" from Half Baked. MUCH much more than those characters.

I completely LOVE every one of those songs/clips in my jukebox over there, especially the Joe Rogan/Jim Breuer clips. (I'm very passionate about my music and radio demigods. But I'm missing Stern clips. They are hard to come by...)
I love rock, classical, folk, some pop stuff, ambient, blues, jazz - latin jazz, standards, blues -- all jazz. Great music always moves me to tears. It should move you to tears, if you let it in. I'm so lame. I cried almost through the entire movie: ONCE. It's a great flick. Fookin' GRrrrEAT! (I loves me an Irish film)

If you sincerely desire a truly well-rounded education, you must study the extremists, the obscure and "nutty." You need the balance! Your poor brain is already being impregnated with middle-of-the-road crap, twenty-four hours a day, no matter what. Network TV, newspapers, radio, magazines at the supermarket... even if you never watch, read, listen, or leave your house, even if you are deaf and blind, the telepathic pressure alone of the uncountable normals surrounding you will insure that you are automatically well-grounded in consensus reality. ~Rev. Ivan Stang, High Weirdness By Mail
And what is a good citizen? Simply one who never says, does or thinks anything that is unusual. Schools are maintained in order to bring this uniformity up to the highest possible point. A school is a hopper into which children are heaved while they are still young and tender; therein they are pressed into certain standard shapes and covered from head to heels with official rubber-stamps. ~H.L. Mencken

"If I'd written all the truth I knew for the past ten years, about 600 people - including me - would be rotting in prison cells from Rio to Seattle today. Absolute truth is a very rare and dangerous commodity in the context of professional journalism." ~Hunter S. Thompson
"I have always been impressed by the fact that there are a surprising number of individuals who never use their minds if they can avoid it, and an equal number who do use their minds, but in an amazingly stupid way."~ Carl Jung
I've been listening to Sirius satellite radio programming pretty much exclusively these days. The programming is FAR more substantial and entertaining. I highly recommend Howard Stern on 100/101
Breuer Unleashed on 104 1-3pm - repeat@ 3-6pm PST
Bubba on 101 12-4pm - repeat@11pm - 2am PST,
and I get my sports from the ONLY sports broadcaster I can *stomach*: Scotty Ferrall 5-9pm - repeats at Tim Sabean's whim. LOVE that guy.
The ONLY shows worth sitting in front of the "Great Sedation Machine" to me are: Weeds -- The Soprano's -- E!'s Soup -- Three Sheets
..My advice to ANYONE WHO WILL LISTEN is to TURN IT ALL OFF! I swear that my overall stress level has dropped at LEAST 30% over the last couple of years, after I stopped letting myself get manipulated and brainwashed by:
#1) Corporate Media - I can form my OWN opinions. I don't need the Mormon poster-boy/girl telling me what I should think, how I should feel, who is worthy of my vote. (How can people view news as "entertainment"? It's grotesque.)
#2) Television shows controlled by network, media conglomerate, douche bags. (Take a break and you'll realize how BAD the programming really is - promise.)
#3) Commercial after commercial after commercial. Everyone dangling the carrot in front of my face -- telling and convincing me that I really WANT what they're selling. It's a vicious circle of working, then purchasing and consuming -- and having to go back to work to get more money to spend.
"We are sorry in the most sarcastic sense of the word." ~ Ignignokt
Promise me you won't watch "news" anymore. Take a 1 week break and watch your stress level dip. Why do you need to know about the missing blonde-du-jour on the other side of the country? Yes, it's very heartbreaking. But honestly, how does it effect your life? I'm not advocating that you become selfish. Just get rid of unnecessary stress. Turn it off! Let your mind take a break. Stop letting them "sell" you every second. Stop allowing them to scare you with a 24 hour Terror Watch/FIRESTORM 2007!/Bird Flu Pandemic! They need us to need them. Desperately.
I'm telling you... watch Antz and then read Nation of Fear. Then you'll get it. For extra *awakening*, read "Lies My Teacher Told Me" -- there's an audio book if reading's not your "thing".
Once you take a step back and remove yourself from The Matrix-like plug of the television, you will clearly see how every thing is manipulated and it all boils down to $MONEY$, and how to get their greedy hands ON your $cash$.
You will see how insanely stupid network television programming is. And how insanely stupid they must feel their viewing audience is. Talk about the "dumbing down" of America.
When you DO catch a network sitcom, reality show, or news talking-heads-blowhard show, you'll actually feel yourself getting dumber with each minute viewed. I swear it!
After viewing parts of American Idol last season, I actually felt the brain cells leave my fucking head! I had to read a book to jumpstart the dying brain cells. Close call.
But it's not really stupidity. It's more of a conditioning. It's like a gigantic sedative they electronically feed you to make you calm the F down and forget about *real* issues.
It steals your *time*. And that is the ONE thing for certain, you can never get back.
Have you ever lost someone and thought, "I should have spent more time with them."

What is the meaning of human life, or of organic life altogether? To answer this question at all implies a religion. Is there any sense then, you ask, in putting it? I answer, the man who regards his own life and that of his fellow creatures as meaningless is not merely unfortunate but almost disqualified for life. ~Albert Einstein
The World as I See It, 1934
My dad. I just realized last year how influential he was in helping me take an interest in radio. He used to play old cassette recordings of Jack Benny, The Lone Ranger, Charlie Chan, The Shadow, etc. I FINALLY realized that through his diatribes about radio, technology, etc., that it actually inspired my deep passion for radio. (I know - DUH!, right? Sometimes you can't see what is right in front of you, ya know?) He may be the most selfless person I've ever met. Would sacrifice (and sometimes did sacrifice) anything for his family and friends.
*Any person who speaks, teaches or searches for truth.
*Any person who speaks the truth, especially when they stand to lose something or everything.
*Any person whose heart is so great that they take strides (or even small steps) towards helping humanity and nature, without asking, "What do I get out of it??
Any person who gives time or money to charity, and doesn't give a fucking Press Release of their "altruistic deeds" and start looking for accolades. Asshats.
Martine Rothblatt maybe an example of how we should have evolved as a society by now, if it weren't for religion, government and Big Biz (pharmaceuticals, etc.) hindering our social evolution process. SHe and his family are the epitome of acceptance and tolerance - champions of humanity. They are truly beautiful and I have nothing but complete admiration for them.
Good fortune and happiness but sometimes a species of
intoxication with success
The Wheel of Fortune is all about big things, luck, change, fortune. Almost always good fortune. You are lucky in all things that you do and happy with the things that come to you. Be careful that success does not go to your head however. Sometimes luck can change.

I realize there's a lot going on in this *space* of mine. The thoughts, ramblings and ideas are very indicative of what I believe my brain would look like if it were a web page, minus blank spaces of nothingness scattered about.
And forgive the rambling, as much of this was written under the influence of a LOT of dro. Like mountains of the wonderful stuff. O_=)
One day I'd like to clean this up - but... fuck it. Myspace sucks enough time out of my day. (and somewhere in these ramblings I talk about "those" in control stealing time from us... unless the powers that be have again, DELETED another blog of mine.)

In case you're thinking, "Where's the recommendation for Howard Stern???"
WELL - my deductive reasoning tells me that if you already have Sirius, like 99% of the subscribers, I assume you're bright enough to listen on your own. It really IS the best "radio on radio" like the ad says.

I have a love for words. The weight they carry. The catalyst they become for expressing one's self. And the ability to rearrange their order, enabling those words to invoke inspiration, emotion, and questions. Words have the ability to touch the soul and move the masses. A powerful weapon.
I love how 1 set of words can be translated two very different ways. A set of words, although seemingly resolute, are actually nebulous. The meanings change depending on who is reading or hearing those words. Especially in cyberland where subtle nuances or inflection of voice, that signal sarcasm or sincerity, can easily be missed. And I’ve found, often is.
It’s strange that a sentence that someone believes has a clear distinct meaning, can have the polar opposite effect when read by somebody of a different mindset or background.
“Freedom isn’t free.”
Now, I see that as an oxymoron.
While others live and die by those words.
Strange how one small group of words can evoke two completely separate interpretations.
I'm a quote freak. Instead of trying to recall all of my babble that was erased, I will throw out some quotes (I love quotes) that move me. For now. Until I am inspired again to wax on. Word.

Who I'd like to meet: "Believe nothing just because a so-called wise person said it. Believe nothing just because a belief is generally held. Believe nothing just because it is said in ancient books. Believe nothing just because it is said to be of divine origin. Believe nothing just because someone else believes it. Believe only what you yourself test and judge to be true." ~Buddha
I'd Like to Meet:
A real pirate from the days of yore;^) From a distance (if there is some kind of wicked trench mouth goin' on.) Gross. (I know... - not very pirate-like of me)
I'd LOVE to meet the person or Being (even if it's within all of us) that can answer:
What is this true purpose of our lives anyway? Why are we here with these inflated ego's, or this false reality, and why the over powering drive to procreate? Are greed and/or evil inherent or learned?
But, until then... here's the *short* list of my heroes:
John Lennon, Kahlil Gibran, Rumi, John Brown, Abraham Lincoln, Helen Keller, Carl Jung, Martin Luther King, Jr., Bob Marley (Redemption Song makes me cry every time), Martine Rothblatt, Virginia Woolf, Thomas Paine, Hunter S. Thompson, Sojourner Truth, Robert Anton Wilson, Timothy Leary, Terence McKenna, Rupert Sheldrake, Mark Twain, Tom Morello, Henry Rollins, Leonardo DaVinci, Nikola Tesla, Albert Einstein, Mahatma Gandhi, Dalai Lama, Naomi Wolf, Susan B. Anthony, Ani DiFranco, Alice Paul, Alanis Morrisette (for her journey to enlightenment), Pablo Picasso, Naomi Klein, Michael Moore, Jerry Quickley, Willie Nelson, Harriet Tubman, Howard Stern & Co., and Randi Rhodes (talk radio host Queen and major influence).
I've been able to scratch off Kimmel and Carolla (I'm counting couples as one, Jim Breuer, Incubus, and Adam Duritz. Although, when I met Adam, I was rendered speechless and said something strange and stalker-ish like, "I love you." DOH! I normally never get star struck. I think I'd respond the same if meeting Howard. But that's about it.
Who I'll Eventually Meet or hopefully(in some kind of capacity):
Aleister Crowley, Aldous Huxley, Sinclair Lewis, Johnny Cash (epitome of cool), Ambrose Bierce, Malcolm X, Howard Zinn, Robert Ingersoll, Jesus of NAZARETH (not the man in your *book* - but the real teacher of peace and tolerance that your book describes - as you invoke this peace makers name while condemning and excluding any one who is different than YOU), Benny Hill, Karl Marx (yeah, that's right. I said it. F-you if you don't like it. You are one of the sheep. *if this weren't written, you'd detect the subtle nuances and know that I'm smiling as I type this*), Angela Davis, Friedrich Nietzsche, Edgar Allen Poe, my mom (I mean, meet her NOW, that I'm an adult), Jon Stewart, Peaches (did I tell you that she fucking rocks!?!), King Ludwig II, Bill Hicks, Robert Ingersoll, Sylvia Plath, Philip K. Dick, Empress Elisabeth of Austria, the old Pope's (I want the scoop on the new, completely frightening looking Pope who demands Prada slippers - whatever happened to forsaking all material possessions?? hmmmm?? And why the giant hat??? - I can say these things, I used to be Catholic... and my Uncle was a Bishop... and there's nothing wrong with curiosity), ...and mAnn Coulter - just to see if you really can see an Adam's Apple in that giraffe like man-neck. Ha ha! Kinda sounds like "manic." If the size 15 manic man-shoe fits... OH - and Deepak Chopra - I LOVE his message and advice, but sometimes I question the very capitalist-style of his constant plugging and mass-marketing -- although, I'm becoming convinced that it is a sincere effort to change this world's collective consciousness -- just wondering. I'm allowed to ask questions. You humans in general should probably ask more questions than you do already. (God damned lemmings) Ask questions and listen to the answers. You don't always have to agree - there's no balance in the world if EVERYONE agreed with one another. Just stop trying to convince the inconvincible. BUT, that's OK! A guitar string makes no music without some tension.
My dream interview would be with Deepak Chopra (did you know he dropped LSD as a teen? he said he did on Breuer Unleashed) and Richard Dawkins - at the same time of course. I'd like to include Rupert Sheldrake and Dennis McKenna (Terence's brother).
I have a non-sexual crush on Sarah Silverman and Janeane Garofalo. I'm in love with their minds. And they're a couple of hotties too. I have more of an innocent-nothing-would-ever-happen-because-I'm-a-total-wuss crush on: Josie Maran and Rainbeau Mars. (they both have the best lips!)
Your Social Dysfunction: Happy
You're a happy person - you have a good amount of self-esteem, and are socially healthy. While this isn't a social dysfunction per se, you're definitely not normal. Consider yourself lucky: you walk that fine line between 'normal' and being outright narcissistic. You're rare - which is something else to be happy about.

Ironic, tremendous internal wealth, know how to rapidly connect with others, looks for paternal authority. i think you'd dig the hell out of it since one of the main characters discover Jesus and Jimi whilst on an acid trip in Sacramento...and gets shot for spouting Malcolm X
