About me: I am an artist living and working in St. Ives, Cornwall.
I have been painting for 10 years & work mostly in oils. I don't often liken my work to any other artists as such, I just do what I do.
Of course, I do have early influences, being trained for 5 years by an artist heavilly influenced by Turner rubbed off. I also found Sisley, Monet & Van Gogh great help in starting out with valuable techniques & nowadays my more 'modern' inspirations are along the lines of Jackson Pollock & Kurt Jackson.
I have exhibited in galleries here in the UK, and last year enjoyed my first Solo Exhibition in Cornwall. I am looking to exhibit further afield & working hard to complete 30 brand new paintings for another Solo show in July.
I work & sell from my studio workshop "Off The Bitten Track..." located in the Sloop Craft Market in St. Ives & also have my own brand new website at CLAIRECULLEN.COM Please check it out!.
Who I'd like to meet: Fellow Artists & Creative People alike. Also any Galleries that may be interested in my work.

Thanks for the add. I really am enjoying seeing your paintings. I would love to see one in person sometime... they look like they would have a lot of textures that could really only be appreciated up close. Hope you are well.
It's our 1st Birthday Party this Saturday at Club 2k in Penzance. We've got one of the best house djs in the world playing for us... Jeremy Healy! He rocked our Newquay launch in April so much that we just had to have him back. Plus playing alongside we've got one of the best house djs in St. Just... Ry Spenceley! And Music Evolution will be pumping out the tunes in the Cocktail Bar.
With a dress code of LYCRA, GLITTER & FLURO (yes we've added fluro to the bill!), as well as a 4AM LICENSE (!!) it's looking set to be one hell of a colourful bank holiday party!
Just a quickie to let you know that our debut EP is going to be released on Tuesday 5th June @ Centre Stage in Bournemouth. It would be great to see you if you can make it for the launch night. The EP will cost a mere 5 earth pounds.....So put it in your diary !!
If you can't make the launch night, it will also be available online (both as CD and as a download) from the 6th June.
If you can't remember what we do, you can watch some videos live from the studio here
See you soon

We've just uploaded a new tune "So Lonely" to the V-Festival site.
When you get a spare moment please go and have a listen to the song and give it a rating! - The higher the rating, and the more ratings we get, means we have a greater chance of playing at V-Festival.
Sorry for the late reply! I have not been very organised lately (my Mom would say I have never been organised … haha…). Thank you very much for your message. I enjoy your work too! The pictures you saw on my page were mostly my old works done quite a while ago. I have just got a studio recently and have been trying to find a new form of my own which I can develop further in the future. It's not easy though. As soon as I have got something good I will certainly share it with you.
I really envy you - you live in St Ives!! Many great British painters lived and worked there. As far as I know, there are now many young artists living there too. One day when I find a wonderful lover I might decide to move there too (it's a great place to be in love, isn't it?! ;))
