Bio
06.12.2006: I just started singing again this Summer after a very long break... I really didn't know where to start, so I went 'back to school' and did a Saturday class at The London Music School. These songs were recorded at the LMS, Dec '06 (except 'Fly Me to the Moon') and it's been great to be singing again - I missed it more than I can put into words and can't believe that I left it so long. So, what next...? I'd love to do some writing again too. If you're creating funky, soulful, jazzy grooves and you like my voice and want to hook up then mail me! However you found your way here, I hope you like these songs. Let me know... Claire :) --------------------------------------------------------------------Update: 13.05.07 -------------------------------------------------------------------- ...I’ve had some lovely and inspiring comments here over the last few months, (thank you :) and wanted to add an update with some more information on my recording of ‘Fly Me To The Moon’ in 1995 for King Records, Japan. I had been involved in previous projects at Abbey Road studios and met a girl called Aki Omori, another singer, who asked me if I would be interested in auditioning for a recording for a Manga TV series - Evangelion. I had never heard of Manga animation – at the time it was new to the UK and not at all the cult-like status and following it has worldwide now. King Records wanted a British singer to feature on the track and I was selected to sing the song at the audition. I heard the arrangement of the song, by Toshi Omori, for the first time on the day of the recording at Abbey Road and a 24 piece string orchestra was brought in to play on the track. After the orchestra left we recorded the vocals. The vocal arrangment was my own..... A week or two later King Records decided they wanted to release the track as a CD Minidisc. I supplied them with a short bio. and they arranged a photo shoot for the CD cover. You can see the shot in ‘My photo’s’ above. I was credited simply as Claire. It is such a beautiful track and was wonderful and an inspiration to sing to. -------------------------------------------------------------------- -
