I am involved in DAN the Disabled People's Direct Action Network. D.A.N. is a UK network of disabled people who take actions of non violent civil disobedience, to try to affect change for disabled people in the UK on issues of abuse and equality. Our interests focus on social model politics, on themes such as "Rights not Charity", the Free Our People campaign "Our Homes not Nursing Homes!", Welfare Reform not Welfare Destruction, Assistance to Live not Assistance To Die and accessible transport "We Will Ride". We are an unfunded informal network of volunteers. Our most recent demonstration was concerning the welfare 'reforms', in December 2008 when we were joined by London Coalition Against Poverty.

I expect it's also a good idea to write to other lords if they may be willing to attend and vte on 30th april for scrapping this section or for some of the amendments proposed.

It has come to my attention that people are clicking my profile/blogs to find out what to do about the Criminal Justice and Immigration Bill section relating to possession of extreme images (pornography). When you click me now there is so much info on this stuff it's hard to access simply WHAT TO DO ABOUT IT RIGHT NOW. So here's the one page version.
The Bill is passed by MP's and we now need to get the Lords to turn up to and either vote for scrapping this Bill altogether, or vote for some of the amendments. The extreme porn amendments are by Lord Wallace Of Tankerness, Baroness Miller Of Chilthorne Domer and (for one of them) Lord McIntosh Of Haringey.. The final decision will be made on the 30th April and the Queen will give this Bill her Royal Assent on 9th May. That's really really soon.
