We were once one of the most influencial and mighty Clans ever to grace Ireland. Noble and Brave were are ancestors. Through-out two or more milena we have been Noblemen, Scribes, Chieftains and leaders of the elete warrior-poets, the Fianna. Whether or not you are a believer in the old tales of the Fianna. A man claiming to be Caoilte traveled with the first St. Patrick that visited Ireland. This might have been Caoiltes' son or grandson. This shows the name of MacRonan and the Clan Ronan dates to this time period. As a student of anthropology I learned most myths were based in some fact. These tales were passed from one generation to another verbally. Deeds embelished upon, but the names would remain intact.

The Ronans continued to be influencial in Irish history. Our 13 century coat of arms reflects our firm comitment to Ireland. It displays the "out lawed" shamrock.
