    In 1965, fans scrawled "Clapton is God" in London's underground stations. Today, more than four decades later, Eric Clapton remains one of the most influential and imitated guitarists in the world. CLAPTONMANIA, the EC tribute band from Hameln in Germany, was founded in autumn 2008 by guitar players Tom Freitag and Ralf Stege. The intention was absolutely clear from the beginning. CLAPTONMANIA not only wanted to celebrate the music of Eric Clapton live on stage, but also wanted to involve the audience to a journey through Eric Claptons life. It's a long musical journey from the early years with the Yardbirds and the Bluesbreakers to the psychedelic days of Cream, the classic rock of the 70's and 80's through to the multiple Grammy awards winning Unplugged album right up to Claptons blues revival in the 90's and the latest hits and songs of present days. Bei den ersten erfolgreichen Konzerten in Ostwestfalen, Weserbergland / Hameln und in Hannover konnte die Band bereits nachhaltig beim Publikum und der Presse punkten. CLAPTONMANIA ist angetreten um die Musik des britischen Ausnahmemusikers mit Leidenschaft und der Freiheit zur Interpretation zu zelebrieren. Keine 1:1 Cover - sondern Livemusik mit eigener Handschrift wird den Fans von Mr. Slowhand und CLAPTONMANIA geboten. Tom und Ralf als Protagonisten entlocken ihren Gitarren und Amps den typischen "Slowhand-Sound". Nicht nur Blues- und Bluesrock-Fans kommen bei CLAPTONMANIA voll auf ihre Kosten. Rock, Pop und Akustik-Balladen - nahezu alle Stilrichtungen werden gitarristisch bedient. Annähernd 40 Songs, aus der nunmehr über 45 Jahre währenden Karriere von EC, stehen auf der Setlist! In October 2007, Eric’s autobiography, "Clapton", was published. It is available in twelve languages and topped the best-seller lists around the world.

CLAPTONMANIA besticht durch ein breitgefächertes Repertoire an All-Time-Klassikern und Hits, aber auch selten gespielten Songs des schon zu Lebzeiten legendären britischen Gitarristen Eric Clapton.

CLAPTONMANIA interpretiert die Songs von EC mit wahrer Leidenschaft und mit eigener musikalischer Handschrift. Tom und Ralf sind mit der Musik von Eric aufgewachsen und entwickelten im Laufe ihres Musikerlebens ihren persönlichen "Slowhand-Sound". Drums (Sascha) und Bass (Stephan) sowie Keyboards (Thomas) legen das Fundament für solistische Ausflüge und Sängerin Nikola Frehsee setzt durch ihre beeindruckende Stimme zusätzliche Akzente.

Bei ihren erfolgreichen Konzerten (selten unter drei Stunden Spielzeit) und durch ihre erste Promo-CD konnte die Band um Tom Freitag nachhaltig bei Publikum, Veranstaltern und Presse (u.a. "gitarre & bass", 04/2011) punkten. Nicht nur Blues- und Bluesrock-Fans kommen bei CLAPTONMANIA voll auf ihre Kosten. Rock, Pop und Akustik-Balladen - alle Stilrichtungen werden kompetent bedient.
