I love playing the saxophone and love playing jazz!! my biggest gig ever was Live Aid when I played with David Bowie which was great. Previous to that I was a member of "The Bellestars" who had a few hits and I also played with Maxi Priest, Jerry Dammers, the Communards, Mervyn Africa and lots of other people. I have been playing mostly jazz ever since but also like to play Salsa and Soul music. I have worked in Japan, USA , Europe and eastern Europe. I play mostly with my own band now or as a guest artist with local bands.
The current band lineup has played arts centres and clubs around UK and also appeared at the Brecon festival and The stables in Wavenden.
May2009 I have just finished a string of dates with Hazel O,Connor ending up with a gig at Wembley arena. There is a youtube clip from this which I will add a link to below. Also several gigs with my band coming up.

I've uploaded a new track. Originally written and recorded in 1994 on a porta studio this is the 15th anniversary digital mix.
is about a memorable summer. To sum up what it was
really about; sunshine and concerts, a carefree lifestyle and far too
many illicit chemicals. The biggest selling album at the time was Dark
Side of the Moon by Pink Floyd and this song is a kind of pastiche of
that.

"Every track from the rhythmic ‘NY Cab Ride’ and restless ‘4 Wheel Drive’ to the brooding ‘Mae’s Song’ has a terrific hook but it’s the way Mason switches tempo and moods that makes ALH great fun. " -- Diva Magazine
