Their two acoustic guitars together with their harmonising vocals capture the essence of melodic soulfulness. Don’t let Gerald Clark and Werner van der Hoven’s modest setup fool you, `cause these guys will certainly give a crowd more than they bargained for... .. In 2006 Clark & Van der Hoven were invited to share the stage with Arno Carstens and Albert Frost from the band New Porn at The Green Dolphin (Cape Town, Waterfront) in the annual Levi’s Vintage Sunday performances, hosted throughout the country. They were yet again invited to entertain lovers of original music at Club 88 in Johannesburg (South Africa), later this year; this time sharing the stage with The Parlotones... .. Clark & Van der Hoven released their independent debut album, “Own Decision”, in 2006, having their fans crave a follow-up which will see the light in August 2007. They have played major festivals like Oppikoppi, Splashy Fen, STRAB (Mozambique) and the Durban International Blues Festival.
