"A genuinely passionate album...(Slater's) rich and smoky vocals and refreshingly rockin' sound stand out amidst a bland singer-songwriter uprising. "Long Way From Home" is the perfect fireside companion this holiday season."
- Ashlee Green - Pittsburgh Post-Gazette

"Polished songwriter pop-rock buoyed by the star power of Slater's voice, which frankly, millions of mainstream listeners would love, given the chance..."
- Aaron Jentzen, Music Editor - Pittsburgh City Paper

"Long Way From Home" is tangible proof of Slater's reengagement with his first love - (music). The 11 songs are presented as surrogate chapters of his life....(and) reflect his associations with Push, Deasy and especially Dave Brown."
- Rege Behe, Music Editor - Pittsburgh Tribune Review

"Long Way from Home," is a CD of 11 originals showcasing Slater's many talents, both as a musician and as a studio whiz, as he produced and engineered the disc. Slater's songs give a nod to some of his influences, notably U2 and Van Morrison, while fully displaying his ability to combine introspective lyrics with well-constructed riffs."
