About me:
I'm a decent guy who has been around the block a few times, won some, lost some, with few regrets, and just the right amount of baggage for someone my age. I'm a sailor/biker (read pirate) who has taken some drastic steps in improving the quality of his life, some of which go against society's norms because I feel it's more important to do what's right. I'm a very sensitive, introspective, thoughtful, caring, giving person, who only wants to be happy, and at least as important, to make someone else happy. My primary source of satisfaction is to be there when the person I care for needs someone, whether that's to hang a ceiling fan or to offer an empathetic opinion on troubles at work. I love to cook, and grow my own fresh herbs. In the past, I've owned a construction company, and currently I'm writing a novel and building a catamaran I designed in order to have a fleet for a sailing summer camp for kids. I always give everything I have, regardless of the personal cost. That's what I believe it should be all about. If both parties give more than 50%, then it's a win/win situation for both. I don't keep score, I just do the best I can, which is all I can expect of anyone. If you're truly serious about meeting someone who is evolved, stable, and just the right mix of comically serious, childishly mature, extemporaneously premeditative, and a bunch of other really cool paradoxes/oxymorons, then give me a shot. A perfect date for me would be to sail into the sunset to a secluded cove, where I grill up a couple of perfectly medium-rare steaks, then after dinner sip a great red wine while looking at the stars and sharing deep thoughts. I'm quite willing to invest in someone special for a mutually beneficial relationship, if that's what works out. If not, then at least I hope it was a fun learning experience. What's the worst that could happen, I'd buy you a drink? Oh, by the way, I'm very honest too...

Who I'd like to meet:
I'm looking for an attractive (i.e. intelligent, funny, compassionate, understanding) woman than can accept me for my flaws, accept my heartfelt apologies, who can explore this wonderful world with me. I spend a lot of time on a sailboat, a motorcycle, or in a truck, exploring the opportunities that life in Austin offers. Not because they're materialistic toys, but because they're vehicles for pursuing the dream. I would like a woman who is more concerned about dropping her marshmallow in the campfire than on how her hair looks, because when I kiss her, I don't care what her hair looks like, even though I appreciate it when she gets all done up. If she want to put on a slinky black dress and drag me to the symphony, I will go willingly and gladly, knowing that I'm with her. If I proffer an opinion on preferring Bethoven's 5th vs. 9th, I hope she can understand. I want a partnership whose whole is greater than the sum of the parts, not something that depreciates the relationship. I'm looking for a woman who I think is beautiful (not society's warped standargs), and who doesn't even know she's beautiful (especially to me, even though I'll prove it to her every day).
