Gosh, I came across Jay's phone number the other day. I remember our almost weekly telephone chats about everything. If you get a change, check out Jay at Wikipedia. I don't know who created the page (Carlos Avalon), but there are great photos of Jay & a great biography.
I wrote a bio on Jay at www.imdb. As Bob Fosse once said, "It's Show-Time". And for Jay agreed.

I watched your movie and was moved. It is the most sobering film that made me smile all the way through.

I have three very important teachers that made me who I am today. One was my high school band teacher. The second was my high school drama teacher. The third was my 4th grade elementary teacher - who taught our class some German. I became a private music teacher and love what I do and the connection I have with my students and the community.

One of the local districts that I have students from is facing a tax levee this year. A levee breaker has been flown in from out of state to try and defeat it. As it stands, the elementary no longer has a choir program and they lost one elementary music teacher. We are at risk of losing all elementary fine arts programs and face closing one elementary school.

I will be recommending this movie to everyone I know and will be giving it to a few special teachers as a thank you gift to them. I still keep in touch with them to this day... 13 - 20 years after my last classes with them.

Jay was a legend, but he was also a great friend. I studied with Jay at Beach, and we taught together for over 14 years at Fienberg/Fisher Adult. I miss him. Can't wait for the dvd to come out & hope the poster goes on sale as well.
Thanks for the add on.

Heather- You and Sara brought our friend Jay to the masses. He is eternally immortalized on film, thanks to your efforts. Jay touched our lives and will continue to do so. I am honored to be forever under his wing with you. Best to you always.
