Classical Revolution began as an informal chamber music gathering in November 2006 at Revolution Cafe. Since then the organization has grown to include chapters in
Portland,
Reno, New York, Philadelphia, Chicago, Toronto, Berlin, Ann Arbor, Cincinnati
Our mission is to provide interesting and exciting chamber music performances in venues which are more accessible to a wider audience than the traditional concert hall.
Classical Revolution has featured musicians who have played with Berkeley Symphony, San Francisco Symphony, Metropolitan Opera Orchestra, Monterey Symphony, Santa Cruz Symphony, Sacramento Philharmonic, Philadelphia Orchestra, Reno Philharmonic, San Francisco Symphony, San Francisco Opera, San Diego Symphony, Carmel Bach Festival, Baltimore Symphony, Sarasota Opera, Houston Grand Opera, Los Angeles Philharmonic, Cabrillo Music Festival, Berlin Philharmonic, Atlanta Symphony, Cleveland Orchestra, Los Angeles Philharmonic and many other orchestras. We have also featured international concert soloists and members of SFSound, Cypress Quartet, Del Sol String Quartet, Arditti Quartet, A Far Cry, Philip Glass Ensemble, Afiara Quartet, Amernet Quartet, Hausmann Quartet, Kailas Quartet, Albers Trio, and many other world class ensembles.
Our events have grown to extremely popular, especially among our peers, the 20-30 something year olds, and we play for over 100 new listeners every week.
We were voted
"Best Classical Music Jam 2008" by the SFWeekly.
