Poem 2 of 230, WalkaboutsVerse (please see my blog): WALKABOUT WITH MY PEN
Once drove an old sedan, up north, From a place in Sydney to Cairns; Then to Kuranda I went forth, By train, to look without set plans.
I browsed through the trendy market, With fresh fruits of tropical kind; Walked to the creek through lush thicket - Nature’s hand giving peace of mind.
I dined in a scenic cafe; Then, outside, as I wrote for yen, Some passing Kooris called-out: “Hey, You go walkabout with your pen.”
Request or question, I don’t know - Assured voices, elderly men. That’s now several years ago, And I’ve seen the world - with my pen.
"Ticklin' The Strings" by Sweet Hollywaiians
Amazing Japanese hot string band playing 1920's, 30's, 40's style hawaiian, swing, calypso, blues, italian music and originals, featuring vintage instruments.3 songs with Robert Armstrong and Tony Marcus(from Robert Crumb and His Cheap Suit Serenaders)
"The Sweet Hollywaiians have probably the best feel for this 20's music of any string band working today. They manage the rare feat of sounding relaxed even when their playing is hot, are top notch musicians with tasteful arrangements and a full, rich, warm sound.Plus, they have a nice gamut of tunes, from King Nawahi to Giovanni Vicari to Bobby Leecan. See them live, if you can, for an unforgettable experience. If you can't, buy their Cds!" ~ Terry Zwigoff

John Felton will be swinging by from the airport rental car lace today, around 2pm.
Bobby & his hubba-hubba date for the Jr. Prom should be surfacing soon (at different residences I hope).
4 Boys pooled for a stretch limo & stayed at Victor's house, while the girls stayed at Oceán's house. The houses are walking distance, so I worry, like any parent.
Happy New Year! We wish you and Bruce a very happy and healthy year. We hope it's a year of peace and prosperity for all. We look forward to seeing you again soon.
We just got back from the annual FAR-West conference. We really missed seeing you both there. We hope you can make it next year when it's in Irvine. We just wanted you to know that you were missed.
Greetings to the coolest folk-chick on the west coast! And, I'm not just saying that because you got my life... tee hee hee! Hope you are happy and well! Peace out.
Aww, Boston is kind of in the Midwest, isn't it? At least I'm a Midwestern girl living in Boston, so that counts for something, right? Come on, guys, come on out to Boston and play! My spare room has yet to be slept in!

Thanks for joining my circle of friends and for sharing your fantastic music with the world....I heard you live back when I was playing in Door County and was the resident guitarist at The White Gull. Congratulations on your continued success; wishing you days ahead filled with love, laughter, and magical musical moments! MySpace Codes
Aw, thanks, Claudia. You're so nice to me, not to mention hilarious--I am going to add "maple syrup volcano" to my press kit as soon as I'm enough of a grown-up to have one.
I had to laugh at your status -"hungry!" and in angst. Every year about this time I get the old shorts out and find out that - crap - they're too tight. So I'm always hungry in April and May, trying to fit back into the old summer stuff. Of course, maybe you were talking about being hungry on an emotional level and not having to do with food at all. In that case, never mind :) Anyway, Spring is here and I'm ecstatic!!
Hi Claudia and Bruce! Heading east anytime soon? Would love to see you! My daughter Caitlin is looking to do an 18 week externship from the Culinary Institute possibly out your way..would be good to have family around. I'll keep in touch. Miss you, love your music!!!
Claudia, thanks for being my MySpace friend!! Most of my friends are Freight people, but that's fine with me. If you have a second (breathe) check out my friend Mick (Still Revival) on my MySpace page. He's such an amazing singer/songwriter and lives in San Francisco. Miss you!
