Sandy Denny, John Martyn, Bruce Cockburn, Joni Mitchell, Bonnie Raitt, Gillian Welch, John Prine, Townes van Zandt, David Olney, and lots of other fine artists - way too many to mention! But I'm sure you get the idea!
Sounds Like
Well, people have commented in a variety of ways, but I can never quite hear what they must be hearing, so I'll just leave it up to you all. I basically try to just sound like me - seems that's the easiest thing to do and after all makes the most sense.
You can always come and listen to me at a show and then tell me what you think.
I remember listening to Elvis on a very small cassette player late at night. I was supposed to be asleep. I was about 7 years old. This was in Nürnberg, Germany - my hometown - many years ago. This marks in my mind the beginning of my passion for music and it seems to only keep growing. At age 20, I moved to the U.S. and continued my musical adventures. In 1995, I released some of my original material with my band Adams House Cat. These days I mainly play solo in and around Baltimore and also travel a lot back and forth to Europe. In 2005, I toured with fellow songwriter Randall Williams (www.whereisrandall.com) in the U.S. and Europe. And returned to Europe with fellow songwriter Karyn Oliver (www.karynoliver.com). Now in 2008, I just returned from a 4-month study of voice in Kopenhagen, Denmark. Where I will be again this fall to begin my teacher's training with Cathrine Sadolin (CVT). On top of that I have great hopes to work on my CD which seems to keep getting delayed because of new and exciting distractions. But I am keeping my fingers crossed that everything will make sense in the bigger picture somehow and come together eventually (sooner rather than later). For now, thanks for listening and I'd love to hear from you!
Attention Local Musicians: (Hanover/Gettysburg/York/Lancaster/Harrisburg/Chambersburg/Baltimore & all surrounding areas are included) Please feel free to list any open mic events you host or participate in yourself. You can also give a brief description of the event if you think it would help. The goal is to promote an opportunity for musicians to meet socially and possibly network professionally. Please leave all information on my webpage so everyone has one central place to check for information.
