Beginning as a one-woman musical endeavor back in 2002, CLAUDIA'S ASHES has evolved into something much more complex, more sophisticated, and much more intriguing. What started as a humble pet-project for frontwoman Stephanie Michelle has matured into a full-fledged, legitimate powerhouse of a band that continually pushes its own limits and the boundaries of the genres which they constantly blur. Hailing from the rural farming community of Galt, CA, the band has clearly emerged as one of the most notable and interesting acts from the central California valley.

In a few short years, CLAUDIA'S ASHES has gone from performing in garages to opening for national touring acts including OTEP, STOLEN BABIES, WEDNESDAY 13, and DROID. Their sophomore effort "A VIOLENT METAMORPHOSIS," mixed and mastered by David Wright of Savi0r fame, achieved critical acclaim from fans globally. In early 2009, the band landed a Sacramento Area Music Awards (SAMMIES) nomination, helping solidify their status as one of the top independent young acts in the underground metal scene. The band has gained airplay extending from the Cave of Satyr nightclub in Amsterdam to the House Of Voodoo in San Francisco. With features in Twisted Dreams Magazine, Hard Rock Radio Live, and hundreds of other independent radio, webzines and media outlets across the globe, it's hard to ignore the coming storm.

Take the sounds of LACUNA COIL, SWITCHBLADE SYMPHONY, KITTIE and KORN, throw them into a blender, and you have what most would identify as a style closely resembling that of the music of CLAUDIA'S ASHES. Stephanie's vocals alternate between sweet seductive crooning and rip-your-fucking-face-off guttural screams. Stephanie's younger sibling, Sean "Bug" Flynn, has stepped up his role as live guitarist into one of the key songwriters in the band, the soul mastermind behind the ominous and brutal guitar riffs that dominate the band's tracks. Melodic synth lines adorn and compliment each and every song, intertwining with deep, powerful bass lines to create a decadent and delightfully refreshing listening experience. Covering topics such as lust, despair, heartbreak, horror and fantasy, the lyrics are just as brutally honest as the music. The band is currently writing new material to follow up "A VIOLENT METAMORPHOSIS" and promise to not disappoint.
