Chart topping producer and composer, CLAUDIO COLLINO, started his prestigious music career in Venice, Italy. A piano prodigy, Claudio composed his first classical score at the age of 13 and while still in his teens, began teaching piano professionally. He went on the have his first single produced at the age of 22, three years before he was to receive his Master's Degree in Classical piano from the G. Tartini Music Conservatory in Trieste.
Claudio then hooked up with Premio Nobel with whom he produced several Euro-dance singles. Claudio went on to compose and produce several more songs and soon had five hit singles in the top 40 on the European dance charts.
Claudio founded D.F.C. which became the trend label for Expanded Music. Claudio's extraordinary talent for mixing musical genres had a significant impact that was instrumental in changing the style of house music.
As Claudio's reputation as an ace composer and producer of dance hits grew, so did the demand for his original compositions and production wizardry. He produced and published dozens of singles for several bands in Europe and Asia.
Claudio's magic touch continued with the release of "Sueno Latino," which rose to number one on the European Dance charts where it remained for three weeks and subsequently stayed in the top 40 for several months.
"Sueno Latino" proved to be a very important part of the dance movement of the late 1980's and early 1990's. Since the release of Claudio's original production, Derrick May, Frankie Knuckles and other well known remixers have re-released "Sueno Latino" and it continues to be remixed to this day.
"Sueno Latino also attracted the attention of music impresario, Malcolm McLaren for whom Claudio and his crew went on to remix "Waltz Darling" in addition to four new tracks.
Claudio next turned his attention to the mix of Peruvian and techno music and produced "Ultimo Imperio" for the group Atahualpa. Their first single, also titled "Ultimo Imperio," hit number one on the European dance charts. After the success of "Ultimo Imperio," Claudio focused on Atahualpa's next release, "Ritmo Andino," which spawned three more number one hits on the dance charts.
Claudio continued producing several singles for other bands in the dance market and hit the charts again with "Barraca Destroy" which went on to become a number one hit in Europe and Asia. He also produced the group Sin Fronteras who cut "Vives con Pasion," a Latino oriented dance mix included in one of the top selling dance compilations.
Claudio also wrote and produced "Baila Este Ritmo," for Cecilia Gayle's CD "El Pam Pam," which sold several hundred thousands copies.
After moving to Los Angeles, Claudio formed Kytarana in 2001 with Modern Flamenco/Fusion guitarist, Alberto de Almar. Their first release, ALMA PURA
, is an enchanting and sensual mix of music from the four corners of the earth.
Claudio currently divides his time between Italy and Los Angeles and continues writing, producing and collaborating with several recording artists as well as composing original music and scores for television and film soundtracks, including the haunting and thought provoking short slideshow/film entitled "Baghdad, Anno Domini 2005"
which Claudio also produced, directed and edited.
Hi, Claudio! I was very touched with your letter. I understand that feel of age. Even though I am almost 28, I had some nasty experiences, that make me feel like Every day is the last day. Why? Just too much reading and thinking for last 3 years. Still, I wish you to get what you need. But not the Ukraine girls- those are money suckers. Best wishes Andrey
BTW do you know this guy? His songs really make me feel great these days.
