Clayton Adams, affectionately known as the Rooster-Man for his nearly famous "Rooster Song", grew up listening to his grandpa's band in Smithville,Texas. Clayton still resides there today where he is very involved in his community. He is the president of the New Generation Lion's Club, announces the parades, is the auctioneer for all the benefits, sings at his church, and volunteers at the local nursing home.
In the early years, Clayton found a love for such Texas artists as Bob Wills and Ray Price from his Grandpa Roy and the rest of the Country Outlaws band. It's no coincidence that Clayton's biggest influences of today, like George Strait and Willie Nelson, are also Ray Price and Texas Playboy fans. Some of Clayton's other influences come from his mother, Cheryl Adams-Kier. She introduced him to the likes of David Allen Coe and all of the Motown greats. Not only does the smooth sounds of Tommy Duncan and Ray Price echo from Clayton's throat but also the edgy fun of Willie, Waylon, & the boys and of course he could never forget his old favorite, Hank Williams Sr.. Combine this with a little hint of soul and blues and you have the creation that is none other than that of Clayton Adams.
Now, Clayton enjoys making his music in dancehalls all over Texas. He enjoys recreating the lifestyle that made Texas music so enduring. As you watch his live show, it's plain to see the love in his heart and the music in his soul.
