Matthew's Blurbs |
About me:
Recent college graduate, moved to Hollywood in hopes of selling out. Grew up in the hills of West Virginia, but came to California by way of London, which is where I'd most like to be. Utterly fanatical about music, and relatively obsessed with good books, politics, coffee, theater, and comedy.
Ryan: i love that the image you project in your
photos Ryan: is LIGHT YEARS away from reality Matthew: what image is that?? Matthew: i'm almost smiling in my new pic. =) Ryan: badass, hardcore...etc Matthew: i am too a badass! Matthew: also, hardcore. Ryan: you should be wide-eyed, laughing and

Who I'd like to meet:
I've been told recently that my profile makes me sound a little bit cranky. So, in an effort to soften my Myspace image, I'm adding a list of things that make me really happy:
- Puppies.
- Music. (I guess that may be evident...)
- Tivo. I mostly just use it to record shows from 1987 (Mama's Family, Murder She Wrote, the Golden Girls) with the occasional doc thrown in for good measure.
- Vegan cheesecake.
- Most anything British.
- Kitsch.
- Cinnamon. Most spices involved in making chai, actually. But especially cinnamon.
- Defamer and Stereogum. How much do I wish I were these guys?
- Radical politics.
- Theater. Plays, musicals, I love it all. Give me some Sondheim or Porter or Kander and Ebb and I'm happy.
- The internet. Damn, that was a good idea.
And now, back to the usual old crankiness:
My biggest pet peeve is when people complain about boredom. People who have the whole internet at their fingertips, and the whole world outside their door!! If you're bored, get off the internet and go do something constructive!
That said - who would I like to meet? Fellow troublemakers, adventurers, Anglophiles, concert-hounds, dog lovers, castaways and cutouts.
People I wouldn't like to meet:
People who send lots of friend requests but no clever messages.
People who say they like Linkin Park, Ashlee Simpson etc. "of course.". There's nothing inevitable about this. You need help.
People who have pictures of themselves with cats. I've got nothing against cats, mind, I just think this is usually a bad sign.
