Thanks to Katrina, I currently have a total of two CD's: Billie Holliday and Social Distortion. I guess that pretty much sums up the range of my tastes...you could also include Bauhaus and Blondie, Iggy Pop, Nick Cave, David Bowie, Johnny Cash, Dead Can Dance, Siouxie, etc.. There's some awesome local groups in NO...be sure to check out the Hazard County Girls, and of course Montreal!
About me: Tulane grad student in physical anthropology, which is like archaeology but I study dead people rather than their stuff. I also collect and sell vintage on Ebay...would like to say I have a special 'niche', but really don't have that luxury. I have bills and rent to pay after all (special shout out to all the a$$holes who jacked up post-Katrina rents so high that a grad student can't even afford to live here anymore!)
I find what I can, where I can, and if I think it's special, then it goes up on auction. (unless it fits me in which case you will pry it from my cold dead claws)...

Long time no speak. What's going on with you? I quit my job when I got back from NOLA, so I'm now in the midst of desperately trying to find a new one b/c I'm broke as a joke. If I find one soon & have the $ to come to NOLA for Jazzfest, then you'll be the first to know. Otherwise, you'll just have to come back here to visit me, or I'll come back to NOLA for a visit when I have the $.
Just think, 2 weeks from now I'll be in NOLA partying my ass off & having a great time!! I am seriously counting the days until I get the hell outta here. Gee, can you tell I need a major break from NY??
I haven't spoken to Eddie since the summer, but he does know I'm gonna be in NOLA next month (we have been in touch via e-mail.) He said he'd call me last week, but I have yet to hear from him, so I'll probably give him a call from work this week.
Brace yourself b/c I'm gonna be in the Big Sleazy before you know it! I'm thinking of renting a car, but was wondering whether or not you think that's necessary. I mean, you're one of the few people I know who still has a car & I'm gonna be all over the place, so I'm thinking it's best I score some wheels. Let me know what you think.
