No es necesario vivir en Estados Unidos o Inglaterra en esta era mediatica donde se han roto las fronteras y unido continentes para influenciar el sonido de una banda mexicana.
En Monterrey una de las ciudades mas desarrolladas de México se forma Clems a finales de 2003 anteriormente llamados Airbag, se decide cambiar el nombre debido a que existia banda con ese nombre, Clems viene del apellido de la esposa del escritor Edgar Allan Poe, llamada Virginia Clemm; una tarde Tristan encontró el nombre despues de encontrar por accidente el libro en la biblioteca universitaria.
Ramon y Tristan estudiaron en la misma secundaria publica y al graduarse, como diversion, ensayaban canciones de The Beatles y Pink Floyd, y comenzaron a buscar musicos porque tenian una necesidad de crear. Fue hasta mediados de 2003 cuando conocieron a Trigos porque trabajaba en el mismo lugar que Tristan, nunca se habia considerado un teclado para la alineacion, deseabamos ser 4 pero Trigos era indispensable por la gran aportacion creativa que podia dar a la banda, despues por medio de un aviso en internet a traves de un chat se contacto a Jalil, un musico todologo que ayudo a dar forma al sonido Clems con su base de bajo, finalmente se unió Christian despues de una larga busqueda de bateristas.
Una gran cantidad de influencias da resultado un sonido caracteristico en el cual predomina la nostalgia por los 70´s pero siempre yendo hacia una actualidad logrando un equilibrio sin estancarse en un mismo patron y tampoco siendo totalmente radicales.
En general no existia una banda en español que satisfaciera los gustos musicales de cada uno, probablemente fue una de las principales causas para decidir escribir en español las letras de las canciones cuando al inicio las mayoría de las letras eran en inglés.
En Monterrey cuentan con cada vez un mayor numero se seguidores y han hecho presentaciones en los clubs mas importantes de y recibido buenos comentarios por parte de periodicos locales como El Norte y Milenio y de la revista española IndyRock.
Como seguidores del llamado movimiento Brit-Pop de los 90´s fue halagador para la banda recibir por myspace deseos de exito por parte de Alan Mcgee y cuando se enteraron que Jon Brookes drummer of The Charlatans habia tambien mencionado su gusto por la banda, resultó motivador para los integrantes.
Actualmente estan por lanzar su primer EP que fue grabado,producido, mezclado y masterizado por ellos mismos en su propio estudio, que siendo una banda independiente pudieron comprar gracias a un prestamo bancario,tambíen estan por filmar su primer video.
Revisando la historia reciente musical, Latinoamerica solo ha aportado idolos pop a la industria musical mundial.Y aparte Carlos Santana, no se ha dado alguna aportación al Rock & Roll, pero la historia sigue escribiéndose día a día.

age where the borders have broken and joined continents to influence the
sound of a Mexican band.
In Monterrey, one of the most developed cities in Mexico; “Clems” is formed
at the end of 2003., Previously known as Airbag, the name was changed due to
an existing band also known as Airbag. The band was named in honor of Edgar
Allan Poe wife’s last name, Virginia Clemm; in an accidental discovery of a
book at the University’s library Tristan found the name.
Ramon and Tristan attended the same school after graduating the junior high,
for entertainment they would practice singing the Beatles and Pink Floyd
songs, and then they began to search for musicians because of their need to
create their own music. Until mid 2003 they met Trigos, because he
worked at the same place with Tristan, they had never consider a keyboard for
the alignment, we wanted to be four but Trigos was indispensable due to his
creativity and the contribution it may bring to the band. Then through an
internet chat he was able to meet Jalil, a musician who helped Clems
improved their song..s structure trough his bass lines. Finally Christian came along after a really long search
for a drummer.
A big amount of influences gives to result a characteristic sound in which
nostalgic overgrowth by the 70’s but always keeping in mind the actuality,
obtaining a balance without stagnating either in a same pattern and being
totally radical.
In general, there wasn’t a band in spanish that would satisfy each and
everyone’s musical taste; probably it was one of the main reasons for
choosing to write the song lyrics in spanish when at the beginning most of
the lyrics where in english.
In Monterrey, they can count with an ever growing member of fans. They’ve
appeared in the most high profile clubs in town, as well as recieved great
reviews in local newspaper such as ’’ El Norte’’, ’’Milenio’’ and the
Spanish magazine ’’Indyrock’’
As supporters of the movement known as Brit-Pop in the 90’s, it was
flattering for the band to receive through myspace, wishes for success from
Alan Mcgee, and when they found out that Jon Brookes, drummer for The
Charlatans, had also mentioned his appreciation for the band, it turned out
to be a great motivator for these band members.
Currently, they are about to launch their first album, which was recorded,
produced, mixed and mastered by the band members themselves in their own
studio, a purchase the indy band was able to make thanks to a bank loan, are
also about to begin filming their first video.
Looking back at recent musical history, Latin America has contributed only
pop idols to the international music industry. And besides Carlos Santana,
has not made its contribution to Rock ‘n Roll, but history is still writing
itself one day at a time.
