ClientEarth is a non-profit environmental rights organisation. Composed of activist lawyers, ClientEarth brings dedicated legal expertise to the environmental movement across Europe. The organisation works both at the EU level and in the Member States.
ClientEarth’s team of expert problem solvers fuse law, science and policy to create strategic solutions to the key environmental challenges. They operate by monitoring existing laws, developing policy, lobbying for effective legislation and, where necessary, pursuing strategic litigation.
ClientEarth’s legal staff, drawn from international corporate law firms, is intent on redressing the imbalance of big business influence seen especially in Brussels, where approximately 90% of Europe’s environmental laws originate.
Corporate interests are well represented by lobbyists and lawyers, while pro-environment legal expertise has been scarce. ClientEarth’s highly skilled lawyers are tipping the balance in favour of the earth and its citizens.
Through our membership we are bringing together concerned citizens who understand the need to forge a better relationship with the earth and who are looking for practical solutions to achieve this.

Even so, his message looks awful. It gives the impression of confirming a potent meme circulated by those who campaign against taking action on climate change: that the IPCC process is biased. However good the detailed explanations may be, most people aren't going to follow or understand them.
-Yes, that's right - I can't come to terms with the idea that this planet can't support my lifestyle, to do so would mean everything I've believed socially, politically and environmentally is fundamentally flawed. I would much rather dig and dig and dig until I eventually find something to support my selfish and greedy way of life than just look around me and see the glaringly obvious.
-Why should I give up anything or think about anyone else? That would mean taking responsibility for my actions. I'm much too lazy for that. I've worked hard. I've lied, cheated, exploited and effectively stolen to have what I have now, but all within the law. I've even had others murder, lie, cheat and steal on my behalf, why should I be concerned? It's never done me any harm. And I'm sure my children and their children will be able to fend for themselves. If not, then they obviously haven't tried hard enough. That's not my fault.
-Now lets vote. And if the majority decides you have to ride a bike from now on, you will have to, or go to jail. If the majority decides to take the gamble, we do. This is the democratic model we are killing people for.

One of her greatest wishes was to build a Hospice" for infants and children infected with AIDS, to give them a last home where they could live until their passing. In 1985 she attempted to do this in VA but local residents feared the possibility of infection and blocked the necessary re-zoning.
In 1994, she lost her house and possessions to an arson fire that is suspected to have been set by opponents of her work. She conducted many workshops in all parts of the world. Her extensive work with the dying led to the book "On Death and Dying" in 1969. In this work she proposed the now famous Five Stages of Dying. These five stages are: denial, anger, bargaining, depression, acceptance.
