GLOBAL WARMING QUIZ
..
Leonardo Dicaprio:"Global warming is not only one of the most threatening environmental problems, but one of the greatest challenges facing all of humanity. Danger signs are surfacing worldwide as temperatures increase (the last ten years have been the hottest years ever recorded causing glaciers and the polar ice caps to melt, coastal areas to flood and storms to become more severe). If left unchecked, global warming will continue to have a profound impact on our planet that will eventually cause catastrophic results. Fortunately, there are things each of us can do. Buildings -- including our homes -- are major contributors to greenhouse gases they’re responsible for up to 40% of all energy and resource use and approximately 1/3 of greenhouse gas emissions that cause global warming."
John Kerry:"Here's the bottom line: within the next decade, if we don't deal with global warming, our children and grandchildren will have to deal with global catastrophe. We need big changes to fix a big problem. We can't "middle" our way there...We need a plan that actually does what the science tells us we have to do to.

    WHAT IS GLOBAL WARMING???

The Earth as an ecosystem is changing, attributable in great part to the effects of globalization and man. More carbon dioxide is now in the atmosphere than has been in the past 650,000 years. This carbon stays in the atmosphere, acts like a warm blanket, and holds in the heat — hence the name ‘global warming.’ The reason we exist on this planet is because the earth naturally traps just enough heat in the atmosphere to keep the temperature within a very narrow range - this creates the conditions that give us breathable air, clean water, and the weather we depend on to survive. Human beings have begun to tip that balance. We've overloaded the atmosphere with heat-trapping gasses from our cars and factories and power plants. If we don't start fixing the problem now, we’re in for devastating changes to our environment. We will experience extreme temperatures, rises in sea levels, and storms of unimaginable destructive fury. Recently, alarming events that are consistent with scientific predictions about the effects of climate change have become more and more commonplace.

We’re already seeing changes. Glaciers are melting, plants and animals are being forced from their habitat, and the number of severe storms and droughts is increasing.

*The number of Category 4 and 5 hurricanes has almost doubled in the last 30 years.2
*Malaria has spread to higher altitudes in places like the Colombian Andes, 7,000 feet above sea level.3
*The flow of ice from glaciers in Greenland has more than doubled over the past decade.4
*At least 279 species of plants and animals are already responding to global warming, moving closer to the poles.

IF the warming continues, we can expect catastrophic consequences.

*Deaths from global warming will double in just 25 years -- to 300,000 people a year.
*Global sea levels could rise by more than 20 feet with the loss of shelf ice in Greenland and Antarctica, devastating coastal areas worldwide.
*Heat waves will be more frequent and more intense.
*Droughts and wildfires will occur more often.
*The Arctic Ocean could be ice free in summer by 2050.
*More than a million species worldwide could be driven to extinction by 2050.
There is no doubt we can solve this problem. In fact, we have a moral obligation to do so. Small changes to your daily routine can add up to big differences in helping to stop global warming. The time to come together to solve this problem is now – TAKE ACTION

The weather is still beautiful here. There is a gentle breeze drifting off the bay which is making it wonderful for spending time outside. I spent most of today pulling weeds from between the flagstone. The way my back is feeling right now from bending over, I'm glad I don't have to walk on all fours. hehehe

This evening when I close my eyes, I think I'll take a walk through this quaint little village. With all the flowers in bloom I bet the scent is heavenly.

Wishing you a sorta upright remainder of the weekend. :):)

My mission is to spread the use of clean, renewable solar power as simply and as rapidly as possible. I am looking for like minded folks who would like to Join a team that is making a difference.

Arguably, PV is the most elegant form of energy generating technology. In the past it has failed to make a substantial impact on our grid, due chiefly to the price disparity of the technology. But we have changed all of that. Solar power is now cost competitive with the utility company’s electricity price, and more over, consumers no longer have to make an upfront investment. They are able to pay for it the same way that they pay for their current electricity – less one distinct difference, the cost of PV-generated electricity has the potential of staying fixed for up to 25 years.

This program entails no up-front costs or fees, unlike several other direct selling organizations; but we do demand that you invest time in educating yourself and in turn educating the consumer about renewable energy, most specifically, PV-generated electricity.

When a prospective candidate signs up and successfully completes our initial training and qualifying test, they become a full-fledged Ecopreneur. From there, simply begin spreading the good news about our remarkably affordable solar power systems.

To become an Ecopreneur, you do not need to be a college graduate or a seasoned sales executive. All you need to be is someone with the desire to make a difference in the World, and someone who shares our belief that solar power will make that difference. That’s it. There is no cost to join! Our sole interest is in creating a family of our associates who understand the good they can do by simply offering this system.

Will Humans Cause the Next Mass Extinction Event?

The effect of GLOBAL WARMING on our planet's eco-systems is projected to cause a MASS EXTINCTION event. We could lose 50% of all animal species by the end of THIS CENTURY. BILLIONS UPON BILLIONS OF ANIMALS WILL DIE!
