I'm a keyboard player based in Wellington, New Zealand. I've played in bands for
ages. I currently divide my Music Time between playing with Matt Hay, and working on original material with my brother Gareth.
Matt Hay writes original alt-country tunes, sings and plays guitar, and blows a mean harmonica. I've played with him for a few years now, first in his band, Matt Hay & The SubUrbans, but for the last couple of years we mainly play as a duo. Sometimes, if we have another player sit in with us, we're also known as Matt Hay & The Makers. We play semi-frequently around Wellie - you may have seen us at Mighty Mighty, Aunt Daisy's Boat House, Eva Dixons, Mojo Invincible, or the SF BathHouse, amongst others. Matt released album, Inside Stories, in 2007.
The Meech Brothers (that's me and my bro), have performed together in too many bands to mention. Since about 2007 we have focussed on writing our own songs without a band. We soon started recording demos at home which ultimately evolved into our debut ep, Lost at Sea, released at the end of 2009.
Hey Y’know Digital Promotion helps the environment AND the economy?
Promoting, selling and creating new revenue streams online requires no manufacturing process, and without physical shipment, creates no “carbon footprint”.
As a musician, digital products and services give you access to a global market, and the value that is created comes back to our local economy. Now you don’t need to have industry contacts - build connections directly with fans worldwide.
We’re encouraging New Zealand musicians to get out there, get online, and take their creativity to the world. Develop content on your own websites, develop your blog, develop and expand new ways to connect and create opportunities online.
The future for creative New Zealanders is just around the corner. Make sure you’re up to date with the latest online promo news and tips by subscribing to our digital music promotion blog here on myspace
