"To social causes Bad Heart Bull brings a beautiful voice pleasantly corrupted by reality and non-conformity. Watching the performance is something akin to sipping a decadent cup of coffee whilst watching a rainforest being chopped down." Review fromOne Night Music.
"Originally based in Santa Barbara, CA and called Clitorectomy and the Mutilators, at first I confused them for a hardcore band. And, lyrically speaking, Bad Heart Bull draws as much influence from Minor Threat as they do from Pete Seeger. Call it riot country or riot gospel, this is folk music that might actually kill fascists. Radical in every sense."
Review from phoning it in.

No Mountain
No Mountain is songs recorded in a fit of creativity, June 2009, residual energy from tours, political convergences and anti-oppression research. Anti-Christ Gospel is largely influenced by african-american spirtuals, gospel and call and response, music with a strong history of resistance. While many atheists may be turned off by the language, we suggest that they deal with it and focus more on the content of the songs, which come from my life experience growing up in the midwest, as well as strong criticisms of "the church." We are putting together a Gospel Choir to re-record the album with at Sterophonic Studios, in Chicago, soon to be released on vinyl.
Devil Catch Up With Me is a collection of tracks (16 in total, now 14) produced since I left Santa Barbara. Recorded with the help of bandmate Joe (percussion) as well as US-transplant-to-Canada-friend Evan Diamond (clarinet, accordion, vocals, etc). Tracks recorded between Autumn 2008 and Spring 2009 on a sweet digital 4-track. Packaging includes a poster, track listing + venn diagram, lyrics sheet. Mastered by Dustin of Sweet Now.
Extraordnary Rendition features 11 songs, packaged in HAND MADE quilted CD case. Originally recorded after I broke a 7 day hunger strike to divest the UC of its management of the US's nuclear weapons labs. New recording made in Sebastapol, California, in Gary's Basement. Features Adrian Drummin Colon and Pussywillow Sparks, performing in their usual roles. CD includes poster sized artwork, artists statement, and hand-bound lyric + tab book (COVER OUR SONGS!). Bat on CD is printed from a lino-cut.
Powers That Be is an 8 song EP with a bonus track cover of Ernest Tubb's rendition of "Have You Ever Been Lonely?" Cases were constructed out of heavy watercolor paper, printed on a hand-cranked press in the UCSB print lab. Polymer plates made with the help of the lovely Rebecca Redman. Includes thread-bound lyric booklet and clit+mutes bat calling card with track information. Recorded in KJUC studio under Storke Tower with the moral support of Hoshua. Featuring Adrian Drummin Colon on percussion and Betsy Bets on cello, vocals, + flute, with Pussywillow on guitar + vocals.
The Tale of Pussywillow Sparks is Clitorectomy & the Mutilators 2nd recording. Recorded on a cassette recorder in my bedroom at my parent's house in Sunbury, Ohio. First printing is out of print, 2nd has yet to be produced, but will be as soon as I get the inspiration.
Soapbox EP is Clitorectomy & the Mutilators 1st recording. Recorded in KCSB's studio D under Storke Tower. First + 2nd printings out of print, 3rd to be released soon (same as above).
Please listen to WMSE 91.7 FM this Thursday, November 5th at 3pm as we will be playing our solemn hymns live for the despondent masses. This is part of their fall pledge drive, so please try to also lend some financial support to keep them going. If yer out of the area you can listen live online at www.wmse.org.
Also, please come out to The Cactus Club on November 6th at 9pm as we will be playing with The Ragadors and Bailiff. We know there are a lot of other shows going on that night, but if you can, it would be appreciated.
He Of The House's very first (of many) compilation. Nineteen tracks from twenty artists, the end result of which is possibly one of the most diverse compilations I've ever heard. From soft spoken acoustic folk to raving, churning dirge tunes; from a noisy, industrial cover of a Sonic Youth song to oldschool punk from when it was still raw, fast, and unforgiving. Powerviolence peppers the grounds where spooked whispers whinny along, and the caustic words of a madman festering in his own mind play out over perpetually plucked guitar strings. A true honour it is to work with these amazing artists, and I do hope we can keep them coming back for years.

Pussywillow Sparks! You sing to my heart! Come back to the southwest- how'd I miss you... did you come to Tucson???
We will make a new Time Traveling Vaudevillian show in the winter if you want to come and join us!!! My ability to produce a vaudeville has highly evolved since last summers' warehouse party!
Well, I began performing in the streets in the cold because I was not old enough to perform in bars as I didn't have any contacts to venues yet.. so doing your land lord's cook out would be amusing (I'll bring meatless substance as I don't eat meats) and I'll have my accordion, classical guitar, glockenspiel, ukulele and melodica to add to the percussion circle. (I've been a drummer for 13 years so I enjoy slamming on anything to make up weird beats.. as can be heard in all of my songs.) 8) Good luck on recording.. as I would really like to meet all of your friends although I am not so impressive with my personality as I am quiet and usually awkward thinking people will not enjoy my poor attituded-sense of humor! heh. Umm. I guess give me an address to meet up with you's before we lose contact and I'll do my best to reach you's.
