About me:
I am a screenwriter. 'City of Vice' (I've written three of five episodes)starts on Jan 14 - it's a cop show set in the eighteenth century starring Ian McDiarmid and Iain Glen as Henry and John Fielding.
Movie 'WAZ' (W delta Z) starring Stellan Skarsgard, Melissa George, Selma Blair and Ashley Walters, directed by Tom Shankland. Released Feb 22.
Previous stuff: 'That Summer Day' for Children's BBC about the 7/7 London bombings; 'Last Rights' (C4, three parts) starring Ashley Walters and Charles Dance; and 'A Harlot's Progress' for Channel Four which was screened on Nov 2. I wrote for three series of 'The Vice'.
Work for the stage includes 'The Maharajah's Daughters', which I also adapted for Radio 4.
That's it. That's the extent to which I am interesting.
Oh...
Have been involved in socialist politics since I was 17 or so. Trying to find a way to oppose Bush, imperialism and all that but also oppose so-called 'radical Islam' and other ghastly supposed anti-imperialists, and support secular, trade unionist, socialist, feminist, democratic people in the Middle East and throughout the world. As well as play with my two cats.
Also interested in music, books, movies and whatnot. These days I seem to know lots of musicians, 'cause my partner is one, and other kinds of artists, which is very cool. As it happens, they are all very good. I don't know if that reflects on me, but I hope so. I tell people it does.

Who I'd like to meet:
Other writers, directors, producers, musicians. Nice people. Maybe one or two politico trot-types from round the world. As long as you're sane.
