In the years B.C. (Before Children) I played in many folk clubs and smokey bars around the West Midlands and sometimes much further afield. I can't claim Lands End to John O' Groats, but I played in folk clubs in Newquay Cornwal and Fort William Scotland. Then there came even more years when old Miss Gibson and me just maintained each other's company. But we've started going out of the house together again.
Hi Clive, Here's a workshop that you might be interested in on Saturday 21st March at the Sutton Blues Collective. Jim Crawford is one of the Country's leading acoustic guitarists, and will be giving instruction on fingerpicking and bottleneck styles.
He is also performing in concert at the Sutton Blues Collective on Wednesday 18th March. A rare chance of seeing him this far north of Devon.
Hi Clive, thanks for the add request! Enjoying your music, and in case your back in Teignmouth again this year we're booked on the Ship stage again! cheers, Marc Ps, yeah, I used to play with Jim occasionally when we lived closer..Nice guy and great player.
Liked you're short set on the open mic @ Crossroads Blues tonite (as always!). Particularly liked your 2nd (?) number - the 'work in progress' - a slightly different flavour I felt. Very effective. Shame you couldn't stick around - great set from Chickenbone Blues. Probably see you Wednesday @ The Sutton Blues Collective.
Cheers
Mark
PS. I was very impressed by Kent Duchaine the other nite - so much energy!!
