Sounds Like
Fuserock. We take a bit of all our influences and fuse it into one big sound.
Since the group's formation, CLOCK TOWER CASE has been performing high energy shows around the entire state of Michigan. At any given show, audience members can expect to hear driving original rock, soulful classic rock, and alternative, but one of their most appealing attributes is their collection of hip hop songs they perform to get people on the dance floor. CLOCK TOWER CASE consists of four individuals brought together in a most unusual fashion.
The group's guitarist, Chad Nichols, and keyboardist, Gary Franks were long time drag racing enthusiasts who got to know each other quite well during their frequent meetings on the Midwest drag racing circuit. In the mid-nineties, the two were forced to give up this hobby when heavy lobbying by the FETCD (the Foundation for Ethical Treatment of Cross Dressers) led to the eventual illegalization of the sport. Out of boredom, the two decided to start a band.
Nichols brought bass player Kelly Sullivan to the table, an acquaintance he made while serving time in Singapore (the charges for which these men were serving time remains unknown.) Sullivan possessed superior talent on bass, but almost didn't get a chance to exhibit his skills. When Nichols first brought Sullivan to meet Franks, the two immediately recognized as each other as members of rival Detroit suburban street gangs, and tensions quickly escalated. Growing up in the tough and unforgiving neighborhoods of Troy and Sterling Heights, Sullivan and Franks felt pressured to join gangs just to survive on the streets. Sullivan's gang, The Troy Boys, and Franks's gang, The Sterling Knights, had been fighting a vicious turf battle for decades which neither Sullivan nor Franks had forgotten. Nichols was able to keep peace at the meeting long enough for Franks to experience Sullivan's bass expertise. Upon hearing Sullivan play, Franks decided it would be best to put their differences aside, at least for as long as the two were in the group. All the group needed to be complete was a drummer, and Gary Franks had the perfect addition.
John Nelson was a highly touted and sought after drummer in the Lansing area. The skills he developed while studying at a secret institution in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan were unmatched in this part of the state. Franks knew it was imperative that Nelson be added to the line up. Nelson was apprehensive to join at first. He was concerned that he might be "lowering himself" by joining the ranks of CTC. He eventually decided to join, under one condition: he would have to be guaranteed primary access to the mother ship when it came to take the group to the astral plane. Not having any idea what Nelson was talking about, the other members of CTC agreed to his demands and the group was finally complete!
