In the summer of 2004, three Christian friends gathered in a living room to sing some of their favorite songs. They discovered they had a tight vocal blend, enjoyed making music together, and shared a heart for ministry. Scott Pennell, Steve Wright, and Dennis Van Dyke chose the name Closer Walk for their group. This name is meant to communicate their love for old hymns and classic Christian songs, as well as their desire to encourage their listeners toward a deeper relationship with Christ. Closer Walk has been singing together in a variety of settings ever since that first get-together, and God is continuing to open unique doors for the group to minister. The trio sings on a regular basis at Maybelle Carter Senior Adult Community in Madison, and the Tennessee State Veterans Home in Murfreesboro . They recently completed their first recording project, which is dedicated to their wonderful fans at these facilities. The recording features 10 tracks (46 minutes of music) consisting of 29 songs including four original songs. If you would like a copy of Closer Walk's CD, please email them at closerwalkdss@yahoo.com.
