Kenzie McKenzie was birthed from the ashes of Kenzie’s former group The Kenzies. After disbanding that group, Kenzie spent time re-evaluating what she wanted to do musically and writing new material that is a significant departure from her earlier work. Blending cleverly-crafted loops with intensely evocative and emotionally naked lyrics, Kenzie’s new material is breathtakingly original.
Kenzie started performing and writing at a young age, preferring to speak with her own voice instead of imitating others. She played in many girl bands throughout high school, then moved to Denver at the age of 17 to further pursue music. While all her material is original, it bears influences of Portishead, P.J. Harvey and Depeche Mode.
Kenzie is in the process of writing several more songs, and has means to release her solo album, co-produced by John Kpckic, sometime in 2009. Kenzie McKenzie her new scene in seattlle come this springP>
