About me:
The Youth Study Center, New Orleans' detention center for youth, is no place for kids! While conditions have improved since JJPL sued the facility in December 2007, the community must still apply pressure to the city to ensure that youth have access to education, rehabilitative and preventative programming, recreation, mental health care, medical health care, and other services.Locking children away without access to these services doesn’t make New Orleans safer; rebuilding a Youth Study Center based on nationally recognized "best practices" rather than an adult jail will!
Close Youth Study! Campaign Community Meetings are every first and third Wednesday of the month from 5:30pm to 7:30pm at 1600 Oretha C. Haley Blvd./ New Orleans, LA 70113.
Youth Organizing meetings are every Thursday evening from 5:30pm to 7:30pm.
