Cloud Mountain Ramblers---------8/3/11 - Just added some tunes by accident so hope you like them cause I don't have a clue how to change them. The new tunes are from a concert Joe and I did at an art fair. I have a few favorites including - Brushy Fork of John's Creek, Spring Creek Gals, Grandad's Favorte, & Goin Across the Ocean. They're all about water, wonder that means? The good thing is that we had a blast playing them. I sure love this music! Thanks to Vern for fixing my old Dobson banjo. Joe and I did some of the earlier tunes on a beautiful Fall afternoon in his living room and the rest are various live performances. The tunes are the only takes and some, one or the other of us had never played before so we are learning as we go and I think you can hear the progression as you listen. We had a little string lubricant beforehand and since I am a woodshedder for the most part I have no idea what they sound like to others. If you are willing to give us a little feedback it would be greatly appreciated. We want the rough edges as that's what we like about the music. Neither of us are performers, we simply play to enjoy the music. -- The music for me is like a time machine and is a way to lose myself. I got to think it has served that purpose throughout time. I think of the notes as prayers going out into space and I am most connected when I am lost in the music and not trying to figure it all out. The music has both depth and humor. It has agrarian roots and the rhythm of the wagon and a mule on a dirt road. It feels like it's in my blood. Joe Huff the fiddler I play with is my favorite fiddler and how lucky is that? We both live up here in the coastal mountains and are neighbors sort of. We particularly like to play when people dance because then it's shared in a different way. Best wishes!- Graham --------------What the hell is this?=> .................. ........ <a href="http://www.msplinks.com/MDFodHRwOi8vd3d3Lm15c3BhY2VsYXlvdXRzcHkuY29tL2xheW91dF9zdGVhbGVyLnBocA==" target="_blank"
