HAPPY NEW YEAR!! The band is reformulated and starting to book again even as we get to work on our NEW 5th album. See below for the NEW CP: Cloud Party has been around for a while now and has seen lots of phases come and go; the roots of this band remain Speese (singer/songwriter) and Steffy (guitarist). Sometimes they play acoustically just to prove they can! Kevin Adams (drums), Gerry Ronning (guitar), Keith Smoker (bass, vocals), and Evelyn Christian (keyboards, vocals) round out the recent final incarnation of Cloud Party. It took a while to bring these guys together, but it was worth it.
Cloud Party has been described as "REM if they were angrier than they really are" and been compared to the likes of Pink Floyd, Elvis Costello and Neil Young. The band has released four CDs: 1997's "These Streets," 1998's "everything and nothing," 2000's critically acclaimed "Real" (recorded live on the Internet) and the most recent album "Praying for Rain." They are hard at work on their 5th album (tentatively titled, cleverly enough, "Five").
"Praying for Rain" (and "everything and nothing") are still available on Amazon.com and CDBaby.com (the other two albums are sold out). Most of their music is also available in i-tunes. Their songs have been played on radio stations all over the country (and even in Australia, Romania, Canada and England.)
