Influences
CLOUDSHINE's Label produces melodic music with great lyrics. We're based on the idea that when a new album comes out, it's an exciting event. We're happy if one cut on an album inspires you to download, but we'd rather make music that inspires you to buy the whole album.
We all loved the great bands of the 60's, 70's, 80's & 90's. We love great artists who respect the MUSIC. We write our own stuff and collaborate with artists who also write. We promote our artists through shows and all aspects of online and other marketing.
Is it unhip to say "We LOVE the Beatles"? Yeah, we do, but we love any group or singer that knows good songs that get in your head and stay there. We use symphony orchestras, or just the bands. We love great guitars -- electric and accoustic. We love folk (like Richard Shindell, Dar Williams, Patty Larkin), Lucy Kaplansky, Sheryl Crowe, Norah Jones. We love Richard Thompson, classic rock, blues, and we love great singers like Annie Lennox, Laura Pursell, Lori Black, Sting, Eva Cassidy. Yeah, we also love Barbra Streisand, Carly Simon, Faith Hill, Celine Dione and all the greats. We love jazz, folk, rock, movie themes, world music.
We love ANYTHING that makes you say "Geez, I LOVE MUSIC!!!"
Sounds Like
Pop, jazz, rock, blues, ballad, Latin, ALBUM music with thoughtful, insightful, intelligent lyrics. But also like anything you might hear and wonder "WHO IS THAT? - I CAN'T GET IT OUTTA MY HEAD!!"
Cloudshine Global Music (a wholly owned subsidiary of Cloudshine, LLC) was founded by feature film producer and composer Andrew Bonime in 2006. After producing several soundtracks including the music for his feature film, the cult classic C.H.U.D. Mr. Bonime became Vice President for Diana Ross' film and TV company and later was International Project Manager for Sony Classical Productions.
Mr. Bonime's musical interests are deeply rooted in his heritage: His great uncle, Josef Bonime, was the legendary music supervisor who pioneered radio and TV music in the 1930's with his radio show Let's Dance where he discovered Benny Goodman, Gene Krupa, Lionel Hampton, and Xavier Cugat. Josef Bonime wrote the theme song for the show which became Benny Goodman's theme song, Let's Dance. He also wrote the famous bugle call that began each episode of the radio show Death Valley Days.
Mr. Bonime was a staff songwriter in New York at the age of 14, and had a record in the 1960's.
Now a Californian, Mr. Bonime has built a state-of-the-art studio just north of L.A. and has collaborated with Laura Pursell, whose father, Bill Pursell had the hit Our Winter Love in the 1960's.
This is an exciting year for Cloudshine Global Music as it launches what is sure to be a strong musical presence based on solid melodic foundation and emotionally packed and original lyrics.

Dear Friends, Well, it's been six months since my abdominal surgery, and finally the music is starting to flow again. I've written two new songs "Bridge Of Shadows" and something a little different for me called "Looking Glass Man"...my first song using a Strat. I've never owned a Stratocaster before, was always a Les Paul guy (still am). But my wife promised me a new Strat if I just acted brave; and survived the surgery of course. I guessed the Fender would influence me in some "twangy way", but I never imagined it would be a Johhny Cash way, (not that I'm complaining, always kind of liked him). So if you get the chance, please stop by and give them a listen. All my very best to you, and thanks for being friends through some really tough times for me, Your friend, David
