About me:
The Civil Liberties and Public Policy Program is a reproductive justice organization that trains, educates, and inspires new leaders, organizers, and supporters nationwide.
CLPP is located at Hampshire College in Amherst, Massachusetts, and since its beginnings in 1981, has been educating and training students and young people about reproductive health and justice. CLPP uses a reproductive justice framework to connect reproductive health to economic and racial justice, queer rights, prisoners' rights, environmental justice, peace and security, disability rights, and immigrants’ rights.
Our programs include:
Annual Conference: From Abortion Rights to Social Justice: Building the Movement for Reproductive
Freedom, April 3-5, 2009 at Hampshire College
Summer Internship Program: Paid summer internships for Amherst, Hampshire, Mount Holyoke, Smith, UMass at Amherst and Greenfield, Holyoke & Springfield Technical Community College students at reproductive rights and social justice organizations. Summer 2009 Application deadline: Feb. 13, 2009.
New Leadership Networking Initiative: A network of young diverse activists working at reproductive rights and related social justice organizations.
CLPP Newsletter: Our biannual newsletter covers topics related to reproductive justice and is aimed at young activists and students. Our newsletter can be accessed on our website.
I am so glad that you support FacesForACure and are one of my friends. Together I know that we will band together, unite our community and do wonderful things to help heal those with cancer.
What can you do to support facesforacure.com further?
Check out FacesForACure.Com and consider adding to the digital mosaic that I am working diligently to fill up completely. The wall stands for strength, motivation and inspiration to aid the healing of the millions of cancer fighters out there.
When the wall is full, half of the proceeds will go straight to Cancer Research to help aid the discovery of the cure. At that point, another wall will be opened up so we can continue to create a visual of our strong community.
Thank you very much for your prayers and thoughts sent out to my mother as she and millions of others fight Breast Cancer.
Band together and we will beat it! Let's do so creatively by adding to the huge digital mosaic of face shots of fellow breast cancer fighters. Together our contributions will uncover the Cure!
The most beautiful people we have known are those who have known defeat, known suffering, known loss, and have found their way out of the depths.
These persons have an appreciation, a sensitivity, and an understanding of life that fills them with compassion, gentleness, and a deep, loving concern.
Beautiful people do not just happen.
