| General | Flipping radio stations while stuck in traffic jams before resorting to the cd that already lapsed five times. Dance clubs and rock concerts, preferably hitting both a rock concert and dance club in one night. Ignoring celebrity culture. Hitting up Del Taco at 3:00 a.m. | | Music | If you read the website, you will know what we like. As far as dance music goes, we prefer straight-up techno and house to trance. We would rather listen to De La Soul's Three Feet High and Rising than anything by Kanye West. We like classic rock, especially if it involves Ozzy. At least one of us is really into U2. Most of us like industrial at various stages of its evolution. Some of us debate over whether British punk is in fact superior to the American variety. A few of us are hardcore Anglophiles and new wave junkies who can detail the careers of every band you heard on KROQ before Nirvana. There is somebody here who has been obsessed with Morrissey for well over a decade. Really, though, you should just read the website for more info. | | Movies | Some of us listen to so much music that there is no time for movies. However, PCU nicely defines what it's like to be an indie rock college kid in the mid-1990s. | | Television | The Young Ones, AbFab, Square Pegs, etc. | | Books | As far as music-related books go, we suggest: Last Night a DJ Saved My Life; We've Got the Nuetron Bomb; This Band Could Be Your Life; Lords of Chaos and a bunch of other stuff. | | Heroes | We would like to play marathon sets like Laurent Garnier, Richie Hawtin, et. al. We also admire people who rock the klub kid look better than we ever could. Basically, if you can play for eight hours without dropping a beat or make your own club gear, we salute you. |

About me:
The People's Dance Party consists of a small group of friends who want to share the best in music from Los Angeles and beyond. We like loud music, stiff drinks and ample parking.

We had a six month run at the Parlour withour club Discourse. This is a list of people who played with us: Babyland, Halloween Swim Team, Anavan, Books on Tape, Rudy Bleu, Senior, Clifton and Swapmeet. We might put together more events in the future, but due to our current schedules, we're focusing more on our solo DJ gigs and other related projects.
