When & where:
Club Distortion is the best club for signed aswell as unsighed bands taking place @ Pub Anchor in Stockholm, twice a month, always a Thursday, two bands and a good DJ at the low cost of 40 SEK (about 4 euros). From time to time we also book bands for weekends at the venue Tantogården.
Idea:
My main goal is to support the scene by letting unsigned bands have their time on stage to be able to let their crowd have a nice evening aswell as providing them with a new crowd. There are so many great, great unsigned bands that never get the chance to be heard and seen live.
Bands:
I wanna make sure that not only Stockholm-based band play, so I want bands from the whole country to come play at my club. Think I managed pretty good this far! In October, a German stoner-rockband (Colour Haze) was booked together with a better known Swedish band and an unsigned local act. Later on I had Atomic Bitchwax from the US at the club's 1 year jubilee. Woho!
DJ's:
What is more importand than music? Maybe food and oxygene... But other than that - nothing. It's very important that the music played at the club matches the bands for the evening. Therefore I always bring an expert on the theme for the night. Jesper Stromblad of world wide known In Flames is one among many who has shown their interest and support by DJ-ing at the club. The music at Club Distortion is always the best, and that's a promise!
