Hello there. And welcome to myspace.com/clubfandango, the online truckstop for the indie rock Community Fandango. Community Fandango is comprised of Club Fandango (the nocturnal gigging event), Label Fandango (the daytime record company hobby), and Thingie Fandango (for great stuff we havent made up yet). Like many of the best things in life Label Fandango was invented in a pub on July 26th 2005. The pub was The Big Red on Holloway Road in the North of Londonshire, next to Allied Carpets and just up from the world famous El Molino tapas bar. A fine spot for some patatas bravas-infused linoleum rolling shenanigans, thunk we. And we wasnt wrongum.

Yet while the pub may indeed have been Big the plan was distinctly small to create a brand new indie label with a heart of gold and the suppleness of a particularly malleable chimpanzoid. But what is your corporate A&R demo policy? the musical kiddoes cry. What is our what what what what? we perplexedly reply. All thrills no frills was the motto from the first glass of house red, and no frills all thrills remains the grisly reality today with generic sleeves, zilchoid recording budgets and measly weasly mushy peasly expense accounts all tossed into the back of the cranky Label Fandango jalopy and driven off to hell by the mysterious shadowy figures lurking behind the wheels of Pointy Recordings and fierce panda records. Kinda like Scooby Doo, only without the dog.

Speaking of shadowy figures, that mysterious shadowy figure at the top of this here page is a Squirrel Galagos called Garry. Not a lemur called, perhaps, Limahl. Anyhoos, here is the Label Fandango discography thus farly, and small and perfectly formed it is, too.

Influences:

Club Fandango is influenced by bands, booze and any great night out we've had in the past twenty years at the Camden Falcon or the Finsbury Park Sir George Robey or the Fulham Greyhound. Difference is that we tend to promote at venues which are actually still open. Label Fandango rips off High Voltage, Transgressive, Dance To The Radio, Marquis Cha Cha, 1-2-3-4 records and any other modern alternative label which sussed out that releasing 500 7" singles by their favourite new band was the way to go. Label Fandango is sexy small fry indie chumpery in excelsis generic sleeves, limited edition releases, boinging guitar whangery released on a budget of three pence and a half-eaten bananas. Think easyjet, then take the fuselage off the plane. And the wings.

toe-tapping, knee-jerking, ear-bending, ankle-spraining indie rock/pop you can whistle in the bath and stumble along to on the dancefloor
