Club Tromolo is the brainchild of Me, Frank Percy, OBE - former secretary of the Macclesfield Angry Working Men’s Club. On finding my beloved club accidentally demolished by the council and myself involuntarily relocated to Scotland, I decided to inject into Glasgow some of the spirit of glamour, variety and animal cruelty for which Macclesfield is so rightly famous.
And so Tromolo (named after my lovely wife Doreen’s favourite wind instrument, fact-fans) was born.
In its short life in Glasgow, Tromolo has witnessed the UK debut of Internationally Renowned French Performance Group ‘Cirque Des Twattes’; seen exclusive DJ sets from the likes of HRH Queen Victoria and David Blunkett; helped launch the career of Glasgow art-rockers, ‘The Spunky Fellowes’.
Not only that; Tromolo also provides a platform for such misfits as Ralph ‘Heartache’ - Albania’s top TV chef and self-proclaimed ‘art bastard’; Sir Clifton Sainsbury,a broadcasting legend famous throughout Cleethorpes; Kozmik Colin - Dry Blackthorn Man Of The Year 1976.
Who I'd like to meet: Walter Higgenbotham, former financial director of Macclesfield Working Men's Club and despicable lying bastard (owes me 40 pounds)

One of the most visionary producers to emerge from the UK in years,Boy 8-Bit is surely one of the most unmissable acts to grace the decks at Koochie Koo. 2007 saw him release a series of remixes that sent dancefloors crazy & made him one of the most talked about producers in the UK. He's remixed Armand Van Helden,Lethal Bizzle,X-Press 2,Alex Metric,DJ Touche,Acid Jacks,The Black Ghosts,Burial,Caged Baby,Mika,Devils Gun & The Loose Cannons to name but a few. It seems everyone wants a bit of Boy 8-Bit & you can certainly see why when you listen to his productions. Combining Commodore 64 blips, wonky basslines & pounding electro beats to sublime effect while showing a diversity that really stands him above his peers. 2008 seen him release his own tracks championing a variety of sounds from breakbeat to dub step to BMore to all out electro bangers aswell as future remix work for Chromeo, Bumblebeez & Midfield General. Now signed to Diplo's Mad Decent, Boy 8 Bit is an act not to be missed. Entry £8 / £7, 11pm til 3am, pay on door.
