  • Bio

Known for its ethereal soundscapes and transdimensional communication, there is nothing in the world like a Clusterfunk jam. Having played in such exotic locations as the Taj Mahal, Mount Olympus, and Will Wicherski's garage, the C-funk entity has its PhD in visceral experience. Although, it cheated on every test to get there.

Bio:

Clusterfunk was formed when the members were in 9th grade at East Junior High in Boise, ID (although each member had known each other and been friends for a number of years). It began with two guitarists (Jack Johnson and Kyle Scheffler) just jamming together. They soon added Wade Martin (guitarist) to the guitar duo. The members decided to play a song for the school talent show (Tweezer by Phish) and added Joel Hawkins (drums) and Karl Mering (keyboards). The band performed extremely poorly at the talent show in the spring of 2008 after only a couple weeks of rehearsal.

The band continued to play during the summer time and into the school year. Determined to redeem themselves, Clusterfunk began rehearsing a creative version of Spain by Chick Corea into Gettin' Jiggy Wit' It by Will Smith for the Boise High 2009 Talent Show. The band was accepted into the talent show, much to the surprise of others because of the predisposition towards the Seniors at the high school. The performance (which featured Sam Schwarz on Saxophone) turned out to be one of the favorites of the talent show. Click here for talent show footage, or scroll down and look for Spain/Gettin' Jiggy Wit' It Live at the Boise High Talent Show.

Clusterfunk still continues to practice regularly and is always learning new songs.
