Chad's Interests
|
| General | The typical…Theatre, Literature, Art, Travel, Music, Dance, Reading, History, Writing, Film, Media Art, The atypical...Continued Learning...never stop, coffee shops and pubs, searching for the perfect chicken salad sandwich, walking aimlessly through the city, making lists in my little black moleskine, the art of cooking, shooting rubber-bands out open windows… or into the back of co-workers heads, sitting and pondering, writing with fountain pens, Jamieson…neat or on the rocks, I like lots of stuff…some of its cool, some of its lame…but whatever. | | Music | A short list of my favorites would include: The Scabs, Kimya Dawson, Tom Waits, Ani DiFranco, Spoonfed Tribe, Regina Carter, Townes Van Zandt, Thelonious Monk, Lucinda Williams, Johnny Cash, Stephane Grappelli, Nina Simone, Old Crow Medicine Show , Rosemary Clooney, Willie Nelson, George Clinton, Max Stalling,Kevin Fowler, Radiant…I don't know... hard question... | | Movies | Since I don't watch T.V. much, I watch a lot of movies. I am a netflix junkie... I used to have a lot of mumbo jumbo written here about art house films and such...comments designed to make me sound complex and interesting... Now basically, I don' care. I like what I like. I love Waiting for Guffman, Patton, and Knotting Hill. I also love Babette's Feast, Juno, There will be Blood... I like movies... | | Television | I had a theatre teacher in Jr. high that once said..."Theatre is life, Film is art, and Television is furniture..." My opinion on this matter changes with the weather and the basketball season. | | Books | I love to read...Love it. Give me anything by: Chekhov, Faulkner, Issac Adamson, Durang, Twain, Books about Art, Williams, Neruda, Manning, Byron, Crane, Ellison, Joseph Conrad, Books about History, Hemingway, Kafka, Poe, O'Connor, Anything on Philosophy, The list goes on!...However, as my educational focus is now shifted to the school of life...The last few books I read contained a horn dog vampire that dreamed of being a writer...Biff, the raunchy best friend of Jesus...who happened to be a martial arts expert with the ability to make explosives and who also invented the "Latte", a magazine editor turned chef, that waxes eloquent about the art of cutting the carrot...and a Shel Silverstein poem about bed wetting... Oh, and of course Mr. Vonnegut... So, there ya go! | | Heroes | My friend Neil who will be returning to Iraq... Yes, returning... It's time we did something different! |
