About me: I've had many years of crazy friends, wild parties, bad decisions, but lots of fun...or I thought at the time. I have more fun now staying in with my kids and husband and enjoying their antics. Toddler years still stress me out, but I am finding "joy in the midst of messes" - thank you Sally Clarkson and your book The Mission of Motherhood. (If you're a mom, you should check it out!!) Motherhood is definitely an everyday challenge, but it helps to find humor when you're kids are destroying your house!
Many of my friends never thought I would leave the corporate world to stay home with my kids, and I'll admit it was like an addict becoming clean for a while - but it's so rewarding to be here for them when they need me and for them to have my whole heart.
This year, we started homeschooling Gage and Isaac. Yet, another challenge!! It's like riding a roller coaster....some days are up, fantastic, and leave me feeling completely fulfilled as a mother....and then some days are down and I have to ask myself, "Are you smarter than a fifth grader?!!" We have a great time and are enjoying centering our whole lives around glorifying God. It's such a blessing to have the opportunity to witness to my own kids instead of leaving them to be "educated" about certain subjects by their peers and then have to pick up those pieces when they get home. Anyway, enough said...love my kids, love my husband, love my job as a stay-at-home mom and teacher....sincerely grateful.
Who I'd like to meet: Ok, enough about politics. I've removed those political videos from my page in an attempt to remain true to my REAL commitment.....glorifying God in everything I do and say. How else can I really be an example to my children? It's ok to have an opinion regarding things of this world, but I am not OF THIS WORLD, I am just IN it. My focus is to keep God central in my heart and in my home. I want my children to understand the most important reason for our lives - to live a life honoring and glorifying God. That's it. Seems short and sweet and maybe simple, but every day is a challenge for everyone. We are ALL SINNERS. Each one of us....every minute of the day we battle sin in our thoughts, words, and actions. We are to act in LOVE to each other - even our enemies. Now, there's a political challenge!!
