| Heroes | We are so pleased to announce that we have joined the MySpace family as part of our 20th Anniversary program.
The College of Metaphysical Studies (CMS), located in Clearwater, Florida, has been a leader in metaphysical and spiritual education since 1986. CMS was formed after extensive evaluation of the educational needs of the Metaphysical, New Age, New Thought, Neo-Pagan and modern spiritual communities.
We offer education for on-campus and distant-learning and are authorized by the Commission for Independent Education, Independent Colleges and Universities, Non-Secular Division, Florida Department of Education to operate as a private, non-secular college and to issue Associate, Bachelor, Master and Doctorate Degrees in metaphysics, religion, esoteric wisdom, spiritual awareness, spiritual and holistic healing, parapsychology and the entire metaphysical field. CMS offers certification programs by the New Awareness Ministries, International along with personal growth non-degree programs for truth-motivated adults. We are rapidly becoming a recognized authority for metaphysical and spiritual education in the world.
Metaphysical practitioners throughout the world are engaged in different things, all under the general label of metaphysics. This encompasses a wide range, such as yogis, mystics, psychics, astrologers, channels, spirit mediums, positive thinking teachers, meditation teachers, spiritual ministers, spiritual and pastoral counselors, spiritual and holistic healers, self-help teachers, etc.
But few people today have a bona-fide metaphysical degree. This is due primarily to the fact that there are very few legitimate colleges and universities teaching metaphysics and its allied fields. Many people practicing metaphysics and claiming to have a degree have obtained their degree from a diploma mill, making their degree suspect and casting doubt on their qualifications to practice metaphysics. We strongly suggest that you verify the credentials of any school you wish to attend. Unfortunately, there are many charlatans selling their “snake oil” today, but what is even worse is the well-meaning but poorly trained practitioner. They become a danger to their client and to themselves and eventually to the entire professional metaphysical practitioner vocation.
Many of our students have enrolled in CMS for the knowledge factor alone. Whether you are studying for a metaphysical vocation or just for the knowledge that may be acquired, you may be assured that the quality and nature of the studies covered in our education programs can make a dramatic improvement in your life. This beautiful and informative new site has been many months in the making and has taken our design team a great deal of time. Our goal was to launch the new site during our 20th Anniversary celebration. It took a tremendous amount of effort and we're very proud that we've made it happen. There were many, many nagging details to find and resolve before going live but in the end we accomplished a state-of-the-art website. Work will continue on future developments for the site.

Why study metaphysics… As metaphysicians, why do we strive for spiritual self improvement? Do we seek it merely to benefit ourselves, to put our own minds at ease, or for a sense of community? If the quest for spiritual enlightenment is pursued only for self gratification than the seeker misses the point of metaphysics. The goal of spiritual self improvement is not for its own sake, but in order to be of greater service to the Divine. By Divine we mean not only our individual perception of God or Goddess but of the community of humankind as well. We are all Divine by nature, brought forth from the Universal Consciousness. So by service to the Divine, we mean service to humanity as well. Service is what The College of Metaphysical Studies is all about. We seek to improve ourselves spiritually and by growing and prospering we are able to serve more people and in more ways. This is the continual evolution… It is an ongoing, never ending process and it is what we are here to do.
