Music
I listen to it, photograph musicians making it, and even make a little myself, on occasion - with generous help from others, of course. I was otherwise classically trained on the Trumpet, then switched to Baritone Horn / Euphonium and won some awards in high school.
Nowadays, I identify more with the rhythm section. My friends list includes a plethora of musical talent and I've even contributed a little bit on stage with the Annapolis-based Higher Hands. I'm thankful for the opportunity, but even moreso when I see people cheering. There's almost no better feeling in the world.
Movies
Thanks to the advent of Blu-Ray and people with too much time on their hands, I can quickly access any modern movie release.
Television
It's all about House and Bones, still.
It used to be all about the first few seasons of X-Files, The Pretender, Brisco County, Jr., and Discovery Channel's Wings and Firepower, but that goes back to when I actually had cable.
Otherwise, I follow a few sports, mostly Detroit teams (Football & Basketball, sometimes Baseball and Hockey). But that's really it.
When I go to a bar and there's good music and good sports on, then I consider it a win-win situation.
Books
While being naturally far-sighted may have something to do with this, I really cannot get into reading books. In lieu of this problem, I prefer to listen to audiobooks on my portable player, instead.
Heroes
The fictional characters Dr. House of House, M.D. and Jarod from The Pretender.
The real person Arthur Guinness, for developing the brew that is my lifeblood... not because I want to father 21 children. Then again, as they said in Ireland: "Guinness for strength!"
Who I'd like to meet: I've already met celebrities, dignitaries, astronauts - including those of Apollo 13, former presidential candidates, musical acts, seduction gurus, radio personalities, and aliens. Just kidding about the aliens part.
Happy Birthday Hombre!!! Glen Lilten hooked you up! Nice tone on the bass trumpet type instrument, we definitely should figure on some additional tunes in the future, maybe Sam & Dave? Killer job dude, on bass trumpet, photography, and being an LED guru, see ya soon!
