As a Christian musician, it's tough to think of anything more fulfilling than leading worship. Playing music is extremely satisfying, but playing to bring people into God's presence is an absolute rush! Yet there is something about it that concerns me at the same time, and that is... SELF. Pride is one of the biggest stumbling blocks for musicians, and ego mixed into leading worship yields nothing but failure in the worship experience. This truth has had a profound impact on my prayer life since I've been a worship leader. I pray continually for His anointing on me, but even more fervently, I am forever pleading with Him to make me invisible while I lead. I want people to walk out of the sanctuary thinking of Jesus alone, visualizing HIS face, remembering HIS voice speaking to us, calling us, singing over us.
The same goes for the music itself. If a song causes us to first glorify a songwriter, its real value is limited. But if it can facilitate genuine praise of the Creator, it's a useful tool. My goal in songwriting is to generate excitement about the Savior, not the song. I want people to see something about Him they've never before seen, or give them a chance to sing something they've perhaps thought, but never before sung. Even more importantly, I want the song to bring the singer closer to the Creator. He alone is why we sing........ cn

Thank you for the add! It was such a blessing to know Larry & Mariel in Okinawa, both for who they are and their love for the Lord...and for getting to know your music, through them. Twice Blessed through the Nesbitt family. In fact, I'm giving Silent Stones for Christmas gifts this year, so that others will be blessed by your music.
I pray that God's goodness rains down upon and around you & your music ministry!
P.S. My 4 year-old son's favorite song on the iPod is Glory of Immanuel. He sings it all the time.
Hey Chris, Thanks for the CD, man... I love it! We got to hang out and worship with your Heritage family yesterday and we were very blessed! Take care bro, Paul

Hey Chris, I met you a couple years ago at Heritage when I came over with Ed Piorek to do a ministry song. How you doing, man? I love your new songs... they sound great! I still listen to your Silent Stones CD from time to time... you're a great song writer, man! I pray the Lord continues to pour out His love through your songs and keeps your heart close to Himself!
