For those of you that have experienced the CNY Scottish Games before, you know what makes the day so unique and memorable. But if our event is new to you, then picture yourself strolling through the beautiful grounds of Longbranch Park in Liverpool...
...you will come upon the sounds of a lone piper performing his solo competition piece in the shadow of a great maple tree...
...you will find Clan Row where you'll see the pride of Scottish kinsmen united after centuries removed from Scotland...
...you will see the spectacle of the heavy athletics where men test their grit in ancient competitions such as the caber toss and hammer throw...
...you will smell the savory haggis and bridies, ready for those with brave stomachs along with a draught of Irn-Bru or a hearty ale...
...you will find the Harpists' Grove where the delicate sounds of harp strings float through the air...
...you will see the traditional dance stage where lassies from throughout the land demonstrate their grace and skill in the traditional Scottish Highland dances...
...and lastly you will arrive at the main event area to witness the power and reverence of the massed bands where you will feel a tingle travel up your spine as you hear the majesty of over 100 pipers and drummers play together...
It's a day that you won't want to end. Schedule is 9:00am to 6:00pm on Saturday August 8th, 2009 with the celidh to follow immediately. Come early, stay late, but don't miss it...
