"There is so much love in these songs. The melodies are absolutely gorgeous, the imagery, crystal clear. Everyone has been there."

"Lowell’s Coalmine Canary served up their cozy, lo-fi electro-pop, and I decided they should change their name to Post-Coital Nap. (That’s a compliment.)"
-The Boston Phoenix [On our set @ Polk Fest]
One year ago, Coalmine Canary began recording noisy lo-fi folk songs in a Lowell, Massachusetts living room. Two EPs, one single, three line-up changes, a house robbery, and thirty-one shows later we are celebrating our first anniversary.
The Company We Keep is our latest endeavor, a four song introduction to a sound that we’ve reimagined, reworked, and refined.
Haha! I saw that too, o well. I think the new name reflects the inner me more anyway. I feel as though I'm really a christian screamo kid doing head-banging squat thrusts.
People talk smack but, vinyl really does sound better.
