Tonight, Thursday, Feb. 26th -- the film The Milky Way (1936) STARRING Harold Lloyd. Harold Lloyd, comic genius of both the sound and silent era, is milkman Burleigh Sullivan in Leo McCarey's whirlwind farce, The Milky Way. Lloyd ducks during a brawl, and the avoided punch knocks out a champion boxer, setting Sullivan in the spotlight as a new boxing wonder. A tricky manager takes control of the PR disaster, trains the milkman, fixes easy wins, and places Sullivan in an event that will prove once and for all who is the real champ. Too bad nice guy Sullivan doesn't realize he's being set up. The Milky Way is widely regarded as Harold Lloyd's finest talking picture. Director McCarey brought comedians Stan Laurel & Oliver Hardy to the screen as a team and directed the Marx Brothers as well as W.C. Fields.
SHOWTIME:
7 PM (this Thursday)
PLACE: Auditorium, Building D, Pecan Blvd.
Admission: $1.
