It's the 8th Annual LJT Coastin' & Cruisin' Cruise January 6-13, 2008. Sailing on Carnival's Conquest from Galveston, Texas to Montego Bay, Jamaica, Grand Cayman, Cayman Islands, & Cozumel, Mexico. This cruise is the largest songwriter cruise sailing out of Texas. It's seven nights on Carnival's Conquest featuring private group performances by many wonderful songwriters, complimentary group happy hours, late night open jam sessions & a LJT Group Texas Hold'em Tournament. There's morning shows, evening shows, there's usually a pool side show & the late night jams that go on until "the last song is sung".
This cruise is the favorite thing we do all year. There's many returning cruisers every year and even several groups who have made this cruise their yearly family reunion! It's about being with many like minded people who enjoy good music, reuniting with old friends and making new ones. It's about getting a group together or taking out on your own to explore the ports. It's about laying in the sun all day & reading a book or joining in a variety of never ending onboard activities. It's about spending the early mornings on the balcony or on deck watching the ocean go by, spotting dolphins running with the ship & watching the sun rise. It's about gambling in the casino with friends till wee hours of the morning. It's about meeting friends at your favorite on board "watering hole" to watch the sun set over the aqua blue waters of the Caribbean Ocean in the evening. It's about a variety of food 24/7 and even free room service! There really is something for everyone on this cruise and that's why it's our favorite event of the year.

I have tried my contacts... would you see if the captain will let me drive the ship this year? They told me Larry Joe would have to make the request. I told them I would put it on Matt Martinadale's Sail & Sign card! But I can't promise to not partake at happy hour.
Ahhh, my favorite moments... What happens on C&C stays C&C... Besides that... the beverages, meeting everyone, the beverages, the casino, the beverages, the bus ride through Jamaica (Red Stripe anyone?)... the never ending best music by the best musicians you'll ever meet. Half NAKED MEN singing and dancing @the dining table!! Let's not forget the "SAIL & SIGN" card. (I believe you sign your life over to the devil with that thing)
Coastin' & Cruisin' is something Tim and I have not experienced....stories, oh my have we heard stories. Our first experience with LJT and gang was last Sept. 2006. One hell of a time, we thought. Until we went to Mexico in July 2007. We meet some of the best people and had the best time. We attended Rhymes & Vines a few weeks ago and all I can say is it just keeps getting better. Coastin' & Cruisin' is just not good timing for us. With 4 kids come January we are broke as hell. Drink one for us. See everyone next time around.
How about waking up with only one shoe on, hand permanently fixed to a conch shell, shriveled balloons everywhere, beads super glued to my head, cotton thread elephants staring at me, and having no idea where my sail and sign card is. How in the world did I get into my room last night? Getting up and calling the steward to ask the time, he says “it’s seven o’clock”, now is that in the morning or evening…I have no idea! A quick scope and coke and off to the purser to get a new sail and sign card. Passing every woman from 9 to 90 who’s smiling at me and thanking me for the memorable dance show I put on last night. Getting to the purser to make sure there were no bogus charges put on the card and ask for the last transactions. “Casino bar…72 LJT-tini’s and 26 jager bombs at 3:00 am”…well at least no one ran up the card and I went to bed early. A fifth sail and sign card and off to breakfast. Complete strangers stopping me and buying me drinks and shots because I apparently bought a couple dozen for them last night. Beers and shots for breakfast and off to the 10:00 am show…it’s awesome. A quick lunch and up to the upper deck for pool and hot tub parties. Sign here, sign here, sign here, sign here…it’s that easy! Learning flip-flops do fly. FREE HAPPY HOURS! A formal dinner where everyone get an applause for entering the dining room, butter shots, drinking out of flower vases, shattering wine glasses, and taking your shirts off for dessert. Nine to midnight concerts, late night jam sessions, piano bar, casino, cigar bar, disco bar, sign here, sign here, sign here, and boat staff parties. Five more days, ten more stories, and priceless memories…but what happens on the boat, stays on the boat…and you wonder why we only do this once a year. See ya in January!
One of my favorite things about C&C is that you have 400 of your closest friends around you (and if you dont know them, you will by the end of the cruise). The 5 cruises that I went on were memorable. I wouldn't trade those for anything. I hope to be back on the ship soooon with all of my friends!!!
My favorite thing about the cruise is ALL YOU GUYS! Wish we could be there in 08,but due to mean old Mr.Money,looks like we will be sitting this one out....so you better think about us,cause we will damn sure be thinking about ya'll!
