| About CoCo Featuring The Grandfather’s |
During the 1970’s COCO was one of the premier Latin funk bands in the Reading, Allentown and Philadelphia areas that featured the sounds of Santana and Tower of Power. This group has reunited to once again provide the high energy Latin funk sound that is COCO.

COCO & “the Grandfathers of funk” feature's two of the original members:
Johnny Blue, aka "Doc" (Bass) and Joe Cavallucci (Congas and Timbales). John Blue aka “Doc” a clinical psychologist in the Berks County Area and grandfather of three, plays bass for the group and has toured with a number of prominent musical projects as well as having numerous involvements with local bands, the most recent of which is the reuniting of COCO. Doc can be heard displaying his his notable slap style bass techniques in upcoming shows with the band. If fortunate enough you can hear him and perhaps God willing with return to the band full time following resolution of health concerns. The newest members of the Coco enterprise include: Chad Mauer on bass whose pulse style palying has proven to be a great assesst to the band. Coco and The Grandfathers of Funk are very fortunate to have Kenny John on drums. This young gentleman is the funkest drummer on the planet. We are greatful for his dedication, loyality, flexibility and incredible sense of humor. Some people take drugs and alcohol we have Kenney. To the Reverend Jack Able (current Coco and Grandfather's of Funk Keyboardist), who has not only enabled us to reconnect musically but spiritually as well we are forever indebted to you.
WHERE ARE THEY NOW!
Throughout the past 4 years the former COCO percussionists (Mike Ferro, Mark Weaver, Jimmy Didyoung, Jarod Piccone) were a great contribution to the movement of this band and we sincerely thank you. Most especially Trumpet player Robert Savage aka "SAV" was essential in this band's success and as band arranger much of the band's current material being played today. Sav was instrumental in laying the foundation for this enterprise, along with SAV, Mike Ferro and Sam Geddio, (Sax). To these very talented musicians we owe a sincere debt of gratitude and wish them well in their new musical project, "On Demand".
To Havana Joe and Mereliss Colon we wish them well in their latin Stylings with Mereliss Y Caliente.
